Zone 5 July 2015 Vegetable Garden Update in Upstate New York
Tips, Tricks
Take a look at what all I have growing in my garden and how it looks for the beginning of July. We were a little late getting the garden in due to a late frost this season however, it seems to be growing well now. We are in Zone 5a to be exact.

Beautiful gardens :-) we are zone 5 too and our local orchard told me last summer that peach & pear trees produce fruit every 7 years and the last 3-4 years we have had great fruit crops but that is uncommon. I really am not sure how true that is I haven't paid good enough attention. I have only been canning these last 4 years and have seen great crops so I guess we will see how this year is! I know our strawberries have done okay so far! We have an apple and pear true we planted in 2012 but no fruit yet. I planted black berries in 2012 as well and it's a huge bush but no fruit. Gardening takes patience!

I just came across your channel. I live on Long Island and home school my 3 children (7th grade, 9th grade and 12th grade as of September). I look forward to catching up on your past videos as well as watching your future ones!

We have been running about 20 degrees above normal for the last few weeks here in Oregon so our gardens are suffering. I am having to wait another month or so to grow my swiss chard...I have never had a problem. But the heat is killing them no matter how much I water. And for the first time I am having a bug problem. I lost 10 cabbage plants and over half my green beans and all my dry beans. Very discouraging. The one comfort I have is that I have lots of space available for a fall garden and will be starting those seeds next month! I really enjoy your videos!

Nice garden! Your Swiss chard is gorgeous. When we grew it it was so tiny and pathetic. I also liked seeing your cauliflower - I've never seen it growing before.
