I dont think that murloc spot is worth, 1300gph is pretty bad tbh. You can pick up herbalism and make more than that farming herbs by just killing mobs for dreamleaf, even with them only being worth like 10per at this poitn.

I think what they're referring to being nerfed is the cave which has the little murloc race track which has been nerfed.

I think to answer your question, it really depends on the person. For me personally, I would much rather run Cata raids on all my characters every week. That is what I find fun to do.
I do try these farm spots every once in while, like the murlok spot. I might do it for awhile, but then just get bored.
Other people might be the total opposite. As long as everyone is having fun, I don't think there is a wrong way to play the game. -
