Quite a great harvest! Looks like you guys eat quite good there even with that much snow on the ground :) Thanks for sharing. I am always amazed with what you harvest! :)

Ha! Love the outtake!

what zone is the Panama city, Florida region?

Whoa, that is seriously cold. We have - are having - the warmest December since whenever, so the veg is doing quite well in the unheated "hot house" even though the lack of light has slowed growth down a lot. With
24°C I'm not sure I'd get into the garden much let alone making videos :) -
I hope you and Karen have a great holiday season,

That's so funny about the temps. All the better for winter gardening!....I was growing carrots for today. I make a roasted root and winter veggie dish for our Christmas celebration but the carrot in the greenhouse are just bit sized and smaller. So Im leaving them to see if they will grow bigger in spring. If they do not, the chickens can have them. My problem is not starting them soon enough. It is 90-100 in August and September here. Carrots can be really hard to start. But Im going to so more research and they again next year.

Merry Christmas Patrick! Enjoy your wife and Oscar today! It's 60 here!

Hey, another great video. Thanks. Question though, on winter gardening. Is there much or any growth during December and Jan, or are you mostly harvesting the previous months growth? I am referring to plants in your cold frames in the hoop house. I know your zone is up to 8, and I'll be up to 9 with the same sort of setup. Even though, with shortened daylight, what kind of growth do you get?

Man, I look at this opening shot of you standing in some depth of snow in your side-yard growing food and I'm here on a zone 8 half-acre barely keeping a small bed of lettuce alive. Like, what's my excuse? lol I will say, there is something about the "cold" weather that just doesn't put me in the gardening mood. Technical aspects aside, how do you keep at it year-round? Thank you for the continual source of inspiration!

It's great to see you having such a great harvest in the freezing cold. It's shows what a few layers of plastic can do. I love the ending, if I had a nickel......take care, kim

I think this is the coldest December in a very long time. We've already had lows of -30°C. I'm in zone 4b in Eastern Ontario.

Hi, I've been watching several of your videos and find them full of interesting tidbits. I live in the Canadian Okanagan and have a similar zone. I love gardening and am interested in increasing my fruit production as everyone loves to eat the fruit. I am interested in adding blackberries but have read that it can cross pollinate with raspberries (which I have) have you or anyone had a problem? I am also interested in stepover apples and wondered if anyone has tried it, and if so what varieties have they used? Love the series on the hoop houses gives me something to think about, hmmmmm

excellent and tasty looking!
good luck, hope your crops survive!
we're experiencing lots of cold too on the Pacific Northwest, sure would like some of the snow to stick around for a little while, the kids rarely get to play in any real snow! lol.
good luck!
