What is the variety of the Goji Berry plant that you showed that was bearing so much fruit. I have a Goji berry plant that is flowering now very nicely but the first several flowers did not form fruit. The flowers fall off and the remaining portion of the flower that would form into a berry drips off. This is the second year this has happened. If I send you a picture can you tell what variety it is?

I got this variety from the grocery store on sale....I have been wanting to grow them for a few years now. Couldn't pass up the plant! It was cut, a few leaves on it..but you could tell it was cropped down . It said it was a 2 yr old plant. Now THESE are supposed to bear fruit. I got flowers my first time. Looking at them now. Just hoping I get berries too. But, flowering the first year, and I have 5 extra plants that came off from the root taps that I planted now. So one plant to 6 already. I believe this is the fast growing "bush" type. Hope that helps. :) Happy propagating! Update: End of season, I have tons of goji berries from all of the plants that I have. I will have a hard time keeping up next summer with these. https://www.etsy.com/listing/240614947/gojiwolfberry-berry-plants-lycium?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_c-home_and_living-outdoor_and_garden-plants_deeplink&utm_custom1=5f9683ec-dc98-4864-874d-c592b81a5a9a&gclid=CjwKEAjw8Jy8BRCE0pOC9qzRhkMSJABC1pvJ5rAq4broRTELMS-DHCfKHTzLxo9Ib7EzBNMHHcEmERoC_Ffw_wcB

I bought a small goji berry plant two years ago. Out of that, I now have nearly 50 plants. I propagated them. My problem is that the goji berry plants do not flower nor fruit, of course. They are growing very tall and I intend to prune them to 3 feet tall this fall. Am I doing it right? Are these plants going to flower and fruit eventually or do I need to discard them?

I have multiple plants growing and flowering outdoors but they do not set fruit. They are in fertile soil in raised beds and available to pollinators. Any suggestions?

If it is not producing fruit mix poop and water and it's called tea dump that in the soil it will help. and add Miracle Gro only every 2 weeks
Buy some bees unless there self-pollinating plants. -

I have just bought a Goji berry plant from Waitrose, a supermarket in the UK, it's a young woody plant so has very small rounded leaves. I have no room in the garden left (!) so I thought about a large deep terracotta pot in a sunny and hot spot, guess after watching your video I can keep it contained? Does it bush out or grow up? And how tall would it grow in the pot? If I keep it a reasonable height will it still fruit?

My goji berry plants are 8f high, covered in berries and are 6 years old.
Grown outdoors in the UK they need bees to pollinate the flowers to get berries. -
why the hell would a plant company not fucking test there plants or varieties before selling them to people claiming they will all bare fruit first year, with a green house that big you could do some refining on the genetics and make a better product, i wouldnt trust this guy

never cut back your goji bush, even if the stem looks dead, it is not. green nodes will appear along the entire length as Spring progresses. flowers start from the longer branches first and not the lower sections. once a flower pales and drops, the berry appears from the housing that supported the flower(much like a pepper). expect 3-7 years before fruiting, if you get flowering in the first year - good for you!. if you are not getting fruit set, it could be lack of pollination, lack of direct sunlight, lack of compost - try hitting the bush with a higher phosphorus and potassium nutrient in early Spring to encourage flowering. my main goji root is 25 years old. i have grown gojis from seed, hydroponics and tearing out suckers as goji sends out shoots underground. in Spring i dump fresh compost, eggshells, coffee grounds. i make a seaweed/comfrey tea and feed my goji this(both ground and foliar spray) and hit them up with a 20-20-20(gound only). this year i hit them up with a homemade lactic acid, directly on the foliage and this is the earliest i have had flowering(June)(zone3a). i too use the leaves in salads/stir fries, they are spicy like a mustard green. i hope this helps anyone with goji problems.(my 3 year old plants are not flowering and only get morning sun). good luck with your gojis!

Ive had my Goji plants for 6 years . They are 10 ft high and NEVER produce more than 3 or 4 berries . Does this guy actually name the variety that fruits ??

samirbalonmano, sorry for the late reply. i just saw your message to me from couple of months ago. you brought up a very good question. so i asked a friend of my mom's that give me my original cutting. she said the variety that does not bear fruit still will produce berries just not a lot and thats a very long time. this lady grew up in the area in china where goji plants are from. as for my own cuttings, she give me 1 cutting of bare stem and now i have 4 goji plants all from the original cutting and they have all produce goji berries the first year. i just unlocked a video i posted a year ago of the original cutting. if you are having problems getting your to produce berries, let me know and i would be happy to ship you a bare stem from that plant. again, i apologize for not getting back to you sooner. im not very active on utube so its a habit of mine to check the inbox. merry christmas and have a wonderful new year.

It seems like some bastards don't want to tell us, that we need to take cuttings from those gojis who don't bare fruits, and put some root hormone on them, and plant them. It seems that this works, and gives flowers and fruits. Im sorry for you, I have done the same, but this is my second year.

Still no berries this year. I noticed the leaves would get some random brown spots and I did get a fair number of flowers, but not a single berry. I am moving next week and I am not even going to take it with me. I wanted Goji Berries for over 7 yrs. now...what a disappointment.

it takes all summer, but tell us, did you had any berries from flowers?
