What to Plant Inside or Outside Right Now by Zones
Tips, Tricks
This is my best advice I can possibly give on planting for hardiness zone 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and a bit on zone 2. Hopefully this helps, I have broken it into 3 segments (onions, summer vegetables, and cold hardy "spring" vegetables) FACEBOOK GROUP: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1536726503273679/ G+ GROUP: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/106748250859397061512/communities/115113804581552649466 .99 Heirloom Vegetable Seeds: http://www.migardener.com/store ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MIgardener Website http://www.MIgardener.com Join the fun on facebook @ http://www.facebook.com/MIgardener +1 me on Google+ @ http://www.google.com/+MIgardener Pin us on Pinterest @ http://www.pinterest.com/MIgardenerYT Follow the fun on twitter @ http://www.twitter.com/MI_Gardener Come tumble with us @ www.MIgardener.tumblr.com

I love watching your gardening videos.. and I'm in zone 6 it is finally getting nice no more 20 degree weather lol this video definitely helped me understand zones thanks
-
Zone 7 - OK to go.
Zone 6 - OK but might fail.
Zone 5 - Wait 3-4 weeks.
Zone 4 - Wait even more.
Zone 3 - Could grow some onions in the middle of the Summer.
Zone 2 - only in your dreams.
Zone 1 - don't even ask. -
Can you use fish tank lights for grow lights? I want to upcycle the lights.
-
Haven't watched you in at least 2 years. Man have you grown up! It's amazing how different you look.
-
Could you do a video on what plants attract bees and keep away other bugs also do you know anything about fruit trees?
-
What are your favorite carrot varieties for juicing? Have you tried any of the purple carrots for juice? I would assume their dark color would make them high in anti oxidants.
Thank You for your videos -
has anyone tried starting carrots inside in pots then transplanting them outside when the soil is warm? I saw a video last year where a guy in Australia did that and he pulled the baby carrot out of the soil and transplanted it in outside soil. However he did not do a follow up and I have never seen it done anywhere.

6a here, usually getting ready for onions, peas and cabbages by the second/third week of March.
Not this year, ground is still frozen solid with about a foot of snow and ice on top, it will take a week to thaw and at least a week to dry out.
Might get out there before the April showers LOL -
Hello! I so enjoyed watching your video! Unfortunately I am in South Africa! I have just planted out my own home germinated pepper seeds! Should I keep them "INSIDE" until they are strong enough Or will they survive outside?many thanks! Avril

This was helpful, thanks! Looking forward to receiving my seeds from my new go-to seed store. Minus the yellow pear tomato, of course! Popular, eh?

I'm in zone 4 so I'm gonna try starting seeds inside for the first time, hoping to do much better this way. I'm so nervous!! Just have to look at it the same way I have the past 2 seasons, it's all an experiment until I find something that works well -
Yay Massachusetts zone 6!!! 7 feet of snow this February only 4 feet left that has to melt. Can't wait to get planting Memorial Day can't come soon enough.

Great info as I do think we are in the zone 3. We are from southern montana which is warmer than Northern Montana as the Northern part is closer to canada . Your totally right about zone 3 frost starts in Sept and snow sometimes last til May but mostly it stops after March but still the temps are pretty cold til like Mid may -mid June. Then July-August is so hot like high 90's to 110 . So I start our garden indoors in March and in a apartment that gets moved to a patio . Which I have great luck and I move our tomato plants indoors before frost as i had tomato plants taller than my dresser. I usually start indoors in March and they are a great size by Memorial day .

so start my tomoates and peppers around the 20th? ...zone 6 NJ...brrrr..

Thanks:
I live in zone 9 and I've already got the onions and lettuce I got from you out and coming up. Since I don't have the lights to grow inside, I have to start everything from seed outside. So far it looks like things are going good! -
Luke!when you think i should start my onion from bulb?i am in zine 7.thank you!
-
Well stated Luke. I am getting many of those same questions so I will point them to this video!

Some good tips, thanks, I live in Brittany in northern France but it appears that I'm in an equivalent to a 9b USA hardiness level

I am in zone 6 too, actually 6a & last year we weren't able to transplant stuff until late may. I think this is why the harvest wasn't the best. I blame the polar vortex. Should we be taking the temp of the soil before we put stuff in the ground? Last year all my transplants didn't even make it. Thanks!
