What Is The Best Weed Killer For Lawns | Best Weed Control
Tips, Tricks
Here is a very good quality concentrate that I have used myself: http://amzn.to/1VjuAU5 Weed Killer for lawns - Often I am asked what is the best weed killer or weed control for lawns. In this video, I tell you what to look for in a good quality weed control over the counter. Remember, I use concentrates mixed in a hand can and zone sprayed or spot sprayed throughout the lawn. I feel this is the best use of Integrated Pest Management practices.

I use Amine 400 (2 4-D) on my pasture and lawn.

As a pest tech myself i would advise that you to walk backwards while applying (if possible) to avoid contaminating your clothing (even safety clothing) when applying any pesticide and always always wear a mask regardless how safe you think it is as these products can effect many of your nervous to reproduction systems and watch wind drift as you don't want it going on your next doors garden and avoid any fishponds . Great video best i have seen yet on weed control 10/10

So I should apply both the 2 4-D and quinclorac evenly over the whole lawn with the tank sprayer?

1:15 SpeedZone is over 28% 2,4-D

Can I use these lawn weed killers against the weeds in the mulch surrounding my lawn? I have a bunch of concentrate and I don't want to go buy another bottle of something else just for the dirt.....

Hi Allyn! Weed control question: I am in Rhode Island (Northeast). I have a lawn with Creeping Red Fescue, Perennial Rye, KY Bluegrass, KY Blue 98/85 (URI #2 seed mix). I need to do a blanket weed spray for weeks in some areas of my lawn that are severe. There are a bunch of different ones (crabgrass, possibly clover, nutsedge, etc). I watched a bunch of your videos, and different videos suggest different weed control - so I am confused to what would be best. One video talked about a custom mix of 2,4-D, Quinclorac, and SedgeHammer. Another video mentioned Tenacity or Celsius. Another video you used Bayer or Ortho concentrate. I need a weed killer that is safe for cool season lawns, and that will kill the MOST weeds since there are various weeds in the lawn. Could you please clarify what weed control product(s) would work the BEST? Thanks, and love your videos, keep up the great work!

My whole yard has been taken over by crabgrass this year. I neglected it too long and this year it just took off. Feels like I should just till it all up and start over again. Man I hate crab grass.

Doesn't Amine 400,2,4-D also kill the grass in your lawn as well

Yesterday I tried Weed Beater® ULTRA Concentrate by Bonide. It doesn't contain 2,4-d cause I think it is being outlawed in NJ along with other states. I used 2 ounces in a hand can sprayer along with an ounce of baby shampoo to a gallon of water. 24 hrs later and the weeds are wilted and turning gray. It has MCPA, 2-ethylhexyl ester, Mecoprop-p acid, Dicamba acid and Carfentrazone-ethy in it. I was told by landscaper to make sure the product has the Carfentrazone in it. I'm very happy with it.

After a hot, dry summer, my lawn looks kind of sick by comparison to how it looked in May; bright green and lush like those lawns in your videos. I want to over-seed some spots, in the early fall or late summer, but I have a problem with ground ivy as well. I've seen your video about Borax, and I'm going to try it, but I'd like to ask you for some advice as to timing of these events. Given my situation, what would you do first, second , third and so on. I want to restore the lushness, and get rid of the weeds, hopefully before winter gets here. I'm in the East Coast region (Maryland) and have mostly fescue. I use Milorganite because it doesn't seem to burn the grass out , and it's cost effective.

I have watched several lawn nut weed (pest) control videos and I haven't heard any mention of trees. My yard is nearly 100% covered by established tree canopies (Aspens, Maple, Honey Locust, and Crap Apple). I am timid in my use 2-4 D and Dicamba anywhere underneath the canopies because I have been warned that these herbicides (Dicamba especially) could damage the trees. Any advice?

thanks for not even answering which one was best.....

Allen, i am located 30 miles south of Louisville and have a lot of crab grass up and coming up in my a part of my lawn that was seeded last fall. I am hesitant to use the Bayer Advanced Lawn and Crabgrass killer because it contains the 2,4-D. I have tomatoes at one end of my grass and have a number of landscape plants around the edge of the lawn. If I do not directly spray an of the of these plants directly is there any volatiization of the chemical that will hurt these plants? How far away from shrubs should I stay to prevent any damage from drift?
I am also considering using Drive XLR8 for the crabgrass. Does XLR 8 cause and drift damage to shrubs?
Any info helpful. I watch all of your videos and enjoy them.
Thanks -
I just cancelled my Scott's service and began using Milorganite at the beginning of July, but now I was noticed weeds popping up, so I spot treated these weeds with Ortho's weed be gone product. However, I have heard of people using corn gluten in the spring and fall, and I was wondering if you have ever used this product and if yes, do you recommend using it during the summer; by the way I live in Indiana and the weather here can change rather quickly. I am looking for a natural organic solution for weed control.
