No wrist band! Good to see.

Viv, how many hours do you spend on your plot? Curious. I'm going to start a small raised plot this year, but it is so hot here and we don't have rain either, although that may be about to change as the el nino takes hold.

OH Vivi! you have cosmos! I can't plant cosmos till the weather cools and because I'm so close to the ocean, the minute they reach flowering point, the wind blows them over. That cuke was enormous and beautiful. Your garden is so nice, neat and tidy. I love it. I will admit that I think the weather is shifting globally. I look forward to your harvest.

Vivi hows the slugs this year in the dry weather? And didn't you lose your leeks last year to bugs? but you said you didn't cover them this year? are you sure they're alright?

Hi Vivi, Love your video's and the way you share your gardening things, I learned a lot from it. I'm living and gardening in The Netherlands. It's quite nice to watch your video's, sharing your thoughts etc.
Why not cover your soil with a layer of mulch? It will help against weeds and keep the moist in the ground. Also will turn your soil in a rich compost in time. I use the "Back to Eden" method, using woodchips. It's very good and I do not need to water as frequently as all the other gardeners. Even in very hot and dry periods. The same for the weeding, hardly any weeds come trough the woodchips. Just cover the soil in autum with cardbord and compost and woodchips, leave all the weeds or grass in the soil, it will die and fertile your soil, and you can plant in it in spring. Just watch the film for free on Vimeo: 'Back to Eden gardening'. https://vimeo.com/28055108
Like to hear what you think of it. :-) -
I think it is just wonderful that you have foxes in the middle of London! Sorry they messed up the garden though. Hope Geoff's plot gets in better shape before he returns. Take care guys.

Vivi you plot is looking great, You've put a hell of a lot of work into it this year Well-done

Thanks for the tour, Vivi. Your plot is looking good. It's a shame about that pesky fox and the black flies that are messing with the beans. Always something, eh?

Thanks for sharing Viv and Sean, nice to see you Viv I have missed your updates .

I live and garden in the middle of the USA in a state call Nebraska. It's known for agriculture and has very good soil to grow just about any thing the weather will allow. I am in zone 5b which allows frost free from May 15 to October 15th which provides about five months of delightful weather to grow a garden. I spent all last winter watching every single episode of Sean's Allotment garden. I've lurked around here almost 9 months and feel like I know you and Sean like friends even though we have never met and until now you didn't know I existed. Here, my city begs people to take vacant lots and garden on them. Unfortunately, there's very few takers so overgrown weed infested lots are every where just for the taking. I bought two vacant lots for a small amount of money and have used one for gardening. It's 168 feet by 165 feet with a 60 X 60 portion under cultivation. Harvest has started here with cucumbers, green beans, green peppers, tomatoes, and soon onions & potatoes. I really enjoy your videos with all the good, the bad, and the ugly. It's real gardening and not picture perfect.
Have a great day on the allotment garden. -
Everything looks lovely Vivi.I was so inspired by your butternut squash last year that I tried it this year. With this extreme heat in Northwest U.S this year they are doing wonderful but my onions are sadly too small and too few. Oh well that's how it goes :) Btw the white rose is so beautiful. Sean the vid quality in this is awesome :)

that is one of the nicest plots one can see on youtube! nice one!

Well done with your first cucumber..:) I hope it tasted alright..Not sure if outdoor cucumbers are the same as greenhouse ones, but you will need to pull off the male flowers, otherwise they will be bitter and mostly seed.
For the first year in 15 years, my onions have been a failure. I think it may have been the sets i used.
Canny leeks..:)
I've tried growing celery, and give up..I love celery as well..Especially with peanut butter..:)
Spuds need loads of watering...You guys need water on tap, and hosepipes..:)
I once bought a packet of 'white carrot' seeds..50% of them were orange..
I dont, but you can eat the flowers of nastursians.. That corn is looking good..
I remember you all picking geoffs beans last year..There should be loads of beans at this time of year..Alas, we can never predict mother nature..
Happy gardening..:) -
Pics the cuc's smaller. That one was double the size it should be.......it's all about the taste...
Red wine vinegar, salt & pepper.......is a good combo especial with a tomato A long with a chop or steak
And don't forget the green beans roasted with a slice of bacon wrapped around them........and of course a baked potato -
I've had nothing but rain up here in lancs and my onions average and shallots small and my green beans only just in flower after 4th attempt. What I have noticed though is: planted 2 cabbage wheeler seeds and they are SPROUTS now 2-3 ft tall and Russian Giant yellow sunflowers have got multiple red heads! What is that all about? Great update. Thanks

Very cool Vivi , the plot is looking really good :-) I use Nasturtiums to deter pests as well as the leaves and flowers for salads, seems to work ok because as you know I don't use any sprays ; organic or otherwise
