where did you get your red dragon venus fly trap?
-
do you keep them in that location, surrounding your pond?
-
yes good evening I have a question when would you recommend to put these plants away in the beginning of October or the middle

I haven't had any luck with venus flytrap. I'm in Wisconsin, and I put them in the house when it gets to 35 F. This year I'm going to bring them in at 40F and put them in the frig in a plastic bag and in a dish of water. Will that work?

I live on the central coast in California and I bought one for my niece and nephew in southern Cali. We don't get real winters here. What would you recommend we do to help them go dormant?

My red dragon attracts a lot of aphids . They destroyed a new trap growing . Damn aphids

I live in Texas where the winters rarely hit 30 degrees . Should I still leave the Venus Fly Traps outside or artificially induce dormancy ?

Wow I had no idea venus fly traps could survive -10 degree weather. Been wondering why they seem to die off every year in my house by the windows. Problem is I live in Potsdam and it gets below -30 quite often. I have mine currently by the window where it's a tiny bit chillier but the house is at 70 degrees F. It's March 1st tomorrow, is there any way I can cool them down a little slowly in like a fridge or something and then put them outside? I don't want them to be shocked by the cold too quickly. It stays winter here until like early to mid April. Would that be enough of a winter dormancy for them?

can I feed my vft bugs in the winter time?

+Brads Greenhouse Hello, in here you talked about VFT dormancy and it's importance for the plant's health. I recently got some VFT namely an adult "big mouth", a juvenile "red mouth" and a very small "red dragon." I contacted the seller and he/she told me that it'll just grow "winter leaves" in the winter season and I do not have to drop the temperature or daylight hours. Is this true? If not, should the baby VFTs also go through dormancy? Thanks so much! P.S. just like you said, the big mouth is close to the ground while the two babies are taut and turgid. I don't know if this information helps

When you say -10, you mean ºF o ºC??

Do they have to stay in a saucer in the winter? If yes, won't the water freeze?
