I'm zone 8a and have found that if asparagus gets full sun, but gets late afternoon/evening shade, it'll grow. Mine produces very thick stalks. Has a problem with falling over, but that just opens up the light to the new stalks down below.
Your citrus root-stock was probably a Trifoliate Orange. It's commonly used as root-stock. It's is true it is not edible fresh, but I've heard it makes a powerful marmalade. I'm planning to get some next year as an impenetrable hedge (for the thorns, but needs to fall suit to my edible landscape). -
If you have fig trees that have unripen figs, just cut the leaves off, and the figs will ripen. you can trick a fig tree into thinking it's fall. It won't hurt the tree, and you will get another harvest of figs.

For the bananas to produce, try planting them right next to the south side of your house and bring some plastic over them in the autumn so they are in a protected area and have a makeshift greenhouse protecting them. This still works best if you have a dwarf type of banana.

Your best video yet as far as I'm concerned. I'm interested in types of food you can grow in wet land. My land is much like yours and I think I'm going to try taro on it. A little worried about the poison issue though. Maybe in the future you could make a video about food you can grow on land that is wet for part of the year?

I enjoy watching your videos and share them with my friends and family. So I would like to share with you as well. I have been growing asparagus in northeastern Florida. It grows like crazy. It does take a few years to produce thick asparagus spears. Plant them where they get more water and sun. You should also put a lot of organic fertilizer when you plant them and when needed. I can send you pictures if you like.
As for bananas, they grow on the edge of forests next to water in the tropics thus if not planted in the correct location people consider them heavy feeders. I live in the subtropics and have had success with having bananas but not to often because it usually gets cold to soon here.
Thanks for sharing brother.

Thank you once again for a great video share. I am really learning so much from you..:) I got my first fig tree and I am looking for Mulberry cuttings to get started. I also have lemons seeds just sprouting. Onward to growing more food for free..:)

True. I work for those box stores.

Im planning to watch the net making videos so I can use them to protect my fruit trees from the birds. Maybe I could use a lighter weight material. Thanks

a tree that bears no fruit is cut and thrown in the fire... do you have problems with bugs and stuff eating and messing things up? also how is your tent dwelling holding up? evrything looks great and i bet those tree rats would be good eaten if need be and they are so fat man could make a coat from their hides.

This will blow your mind. We planted about 20 fruit trees 5 and 10 years. This past year was the first time they produced fruit due to frost. But not one was lost to squirrels. Because there arent any squirrels cause there aren't any natural trees.

I recently noticed they changed my USDA zone from 8b to 10a.
