At times like this I don't like being a human. I don't care if anyone replies to this comment saying "this isn't true, this documentary was probably made by a vegan/vegetarian" it's obviously real. This is proof. I wish we could all just deal with consuming free-ranged chickens and get on with our lives...

Survival of the fittest you assholes.... I dont care how the food gets to my table as long as it does.

It makes me proud how I'm a vegetarian this is so brutal and terrible. I know this may sound very ironic but at times like these it really makes me hate humans. I'm going to cry now..

This video made me cry, it is so very sad to see chickens treated this way. I have 21 chickens and they are treated like living gold. My hens get to roost inside a custom made Tuff Shed that I modified with large windows, skylight extra big heavy screened vents which allow plenty of air flow and they also get let out every single morning rain or shine to go out and scratch around all day on almost an acre of fenced forest, being put back in to their fortress each and every evening well before dark. The floor of my coop has a layer of sand and every morning just after letting them out I use a common cat box pooper sifter to clean up all of the night time droppings. My hens are better taken care of than most peoples cats and dogs and it shows when you see how happy they are when they go hopping out and running around every morning. It saddens me deeply to see animals treated this way regardless if this video was filmed here in Cal. or abroad. It should really hit home to many people of just how important it is to raise and care for your own hens if possible and if you do that they will produce the tastiest eggs that you have ever had in your life, no comparison to store bought eggs. If you are unable to raise and have your own hens then please do buy free range eggs which means the eggs came from chickens that get to go outside and exist like a true chicken should. Cage free is better than normal eggs but still means that they are all confined inside giant warehouses and not let outside to free range. Chickens are great animals and to treat them the way this video shows is just so wrong that it hurts, hurts to the point of making me cry. Marti. S

I'm an animal science major Ive intensively studied animal welfare, animal rights groups and the industry of livestock including poultry. And I can tell you that this film was put together by splicing other videos from other countries. The equipment being used is antiquated and the conditions are not what egg farms use. Though I don't believe in battery caged eggs, I have my own little flock for eggs. I do believe in the truth. Sick chickens don't make money for these companies. Of all the egg farms Ive visited, the health of the chickens was first priority. One last thing, egg farms don't keep their chickens in the dark. Its 16hrs of day light and 8 yrs of darkness at night to sleep.

Go vegan!

This is the reason my wife and I built our own coop and bought our own chickens. For under $150 we built a coop, run, and bought chickens and we can go get our own eggs daily. The chickens have plenty of room to run since they can also free roam our back yard for a few hours a day. Plus our eggs taste a lot better home raised then the from commercial egg producers.

Please do! My chickens were the BEST pets I've ever had, such YUMMY eggs! <3

People that think Gamecock owners are cruel need to take a look at this. Atleast game birds have nice housing great food and fresh water daily. They are asked to fight a few times and if they live they live the rest of their life as a breeder. Fact is Gamecocks get a chance at life, these birds are born to die, and before that live one horrible life.

For about 5 months out of year we all get local, free range happy hen eggs. But in Alaska they dont produce. My gfather reccomended Egglands Best. I normally buy Organic Valley. Who I somewhat trust.
-
Looked for egglands best. Got 3 vids, this being one of them.

This is sick! How is this still legal!! Cruelty to animals must stop!
-
But it costs more to keep them like that. They don't care about the welfare of hens; it's all about money. The same thing happens with all these 'Made in China' products flooding the markets.
-
Well, that was a picture of Hell...
-
Thats why their bones are so soft. Many times I would get broken chicken legs. Poor babies, thank you for showing me the video. Disgusting conditions.
-
I think the hens would have a better life just free living
