The craze for the quail bird and its eggs has been growing pretty fast in Kenya over the last few months. However questions now emerge as to whether farmers are rushing into yet another get-rich-quick project before doing a proper analysis of the market. From a high of almost 100 shillings per egg, farmers are now selling a quail egg at between 20-30 shillings. So is this business venture really realistic? Denis Otieno talked to both farmers and the government and here is his report.
