The tobacco plantations were supposed to be sugar, but you didn't change the crop. Also, the upgrade for the tobacco plantation will degrade the soil over time which doesn't really help in the long run. And demolishing the mines also mean to automate them.

having so few workers can really hit your economy hard. I forget what mission it was, the one where you get a few hundred refugees, my economy was barely making a profit. I had 230 open jobs. When those refugees came, the jobs filled and my economy was suddenly great.
If you build to fast it can kill you later on. Find a way to fill those jobs fast. Perhaps open the boarders to everyone. -
gif me mana OMG KOTL NOOOOOOOOOOB
-
In the beginning you invited forreign workers like a madman but you stopped because it became too expensive and your economy didn't allow for it.... but now you are swimming in cash - maybe you should invite some again to actually have some people working in your buildings?

Really enjoying the series so far! You've really grown into the game, few bonehead moments but we can forgive you for them. New to the channel and I'll be staying!!
Get onto the peaceful atom and demolish the non-producing coal power plant in place of some nuclear power!:)
Looking forward to the next part already!:D -
Skye, shacks indicate where you have a housing problem. So you need to build housing on top of them or put parking lots there.
-
hello Skye. i really enjoy your vids. i found your channel when you did Banished, and i love the way you are commenting and more. can we know a bit more about you? what do you do for a living, where are you from ( UK yeh.. but where ), why have you decided to do youtube ( clearly you are funny and easy going ), but have you ever thought about the joy you give to people? me for example, i find myself that i cannot wait for a new lets play episode by you. so thanks... and keep it up! -
STOP BEING SUCH A CRUEL MAN AND DESTROYING THE SHELTERS!

A lot of your places have no workers because you don't have enough people on the island, I noticed you had 6 unemployed and 197 jobs and that was b4 you put the holiday stuff in
-
Skye I challenge you to an island doings of a dictator,in sandbox.
-
holy ship..thasalota moneyz Oo
-
skye when you back to this map ,the power station i think is not produece eletrecity because you dont have the upgrades to coal.
-
well the Environmental faction said get ride of all the mines, but they did't say anything about automated mines our modernisering the old ones.
-
Just epic sir.

I think to decrease homeless in the island you need to demolish the shacks. Your apartments will fill up more with families and that will bring more people....But this is only a theory.

Build the largest military You can build sky
Take over the world. -
I'd take advantage of the free money from the investment account to put in Tourism or as a savings account by building a lot of expensive stuff which can then be cancelled when you return to the map and get the money back.
The annoying part about these missions is that your treasury at the end of the mission doesn't carry over to the next mission when you return to the island. I once had close to $600,000 in my Treasury at the end of one mission, only to find my treasury at the default level of $20,000 or so when I returned to the island. On the other hand, since I had developed my industries well, and was getting decent exports, the money came flowing in regardless.
With that said, the investment account maxes out at $10 million, but it won't take long for it to hit that amount.
I don't think it's possible to solve the homeless problem. When I returned to this island, I put a ton of housing in. I have tenements that are completely empty, but no matter how many I put down, I get more shacks and more homeless as my population grows. I have Social Security active, so all the people who are broke should be bumped up to atleast Poor level of wealth, but I still have people the game considers to be broke.
I've put in a lot of housing, with a lot of Tenements, most with vacancies. The odd thing is, you'll get RIch people living in Shacks, because they'd rather not live in Tenements, even though the Shack pops up next to the tenement.
Mansions, Houses and Apartments do fill up relatively quickly though some have been slower to fill up than others.
It's best to put Newspapers and TV stations near areas that are "Red" regarding LIberty, especially if there are any residential buildings in those areas, as the Green areas already have high liberty. Also, the TV station has an upgrade that boosts entertainment in the vicinity, so that's one thing to consider.
Once the Airport gets built, watch what happens when planes land and take off ;)
