Trim the dead and dried stems down to the ground to avoid the eyesore. New growth will come up from the ground (root stem) in the spring. Good luck!

Last fall I planted three mums in my little patch of garden at my new home. Now after the winter they are dead and dried stems coming out of the ground. Did I understand from this video I just cut them down for now because they are a bit of an eye sore as my bulbs are coming up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
