Transplanting Seed Start Chives & Herbs into Cups: Have a Plant Yard Sale! - TRG2016
Tips, Tricks
I show you the next step in my over-seeding herb method. Once they get to size they can go into their transplant cups. I use bagged Garden Soil for the transplants as it is inexpensive. You can feed and bottom water them once they are in their new cups. This is how I once prepared for my annual plant yard sale. I sold plants for $1 and made enough to support my garden needs for the Spring. Check out my vegetable gardening blog: The Rusted Garden. It is filled with garden information, videos, pictures, seed catalogs and seeds & things I sell. http://www.therustedgarden.blogspot.com Join My FaceBook Gardening Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/262500970619372/

Hi my name is Mario and I'm 15 and love to grow stuff I started growing things last year I grew green beans. This year I'm starting with six different types of peppers and I need some because today I plant the seeds in a starting tray. So what types of tips could you give me so I could have a good Pepper growing season. Such as when do I plant outside. And what month so I put them outside. I live in South Carolina. I need help from a more experienced grower.

Silly question. Just setting up my greenhouse in the kitchen and started some oregano and basil. I want to start some chives but find that some sites say no light for germination and some say light is required for germination. What is the best for starting chives, oregano, basil, parsley, thyme, tomatos etc. I didn't really find that info on your channel yet. Thanks.

Have you ever heard of anyone using calcium citrate and/or calcium carbonate Vitamins when planting tomatoes? If so what were the results?

Gary I'm thinking of planting watermelon this year should I seed start them or just plant them in the garden

That's a great way to stay organized. I usually right it on a sheet of paper but sometimes that gets messed up.

Styrofoam or plastic? any reasons to avoid red plastic cups.

Yes, I too, like to fertilize my coffee! After a few moments, the cup is full again! Works Miracles on Lite Beer! A really helpful "companion gardening" tip. Gary, you never disappoint!

A newbie question. Why plant in smaller cells to then move to the larger cups? Is there a benefit to doing this as opposed to planting in the cups straight away? Thank you
-
Does the coffee give them a boost when you transplant? ;-)

Plant sale, great idea. Brought some soil in from the garden for transplanting last spring, also brought in some mold or fungus, won't be doing that again!

I enjoy your videos. Sincerely Rick

thank-you, sir: when can one transplant herbs from small seed cells, how tall should they be, or would one go by how the roots look? thank you, Sincerely Rick

Awesome idea on the plant sale.

Good idea on the plant sale. Unfortunately for me, I live out in the boonies with little traffic. Not sure how successful I'd be.
