1. what was that treatment you used for the bottom of the stem?
2. 2 year old... wtf... I have a 8 month old tree and it is 6' tall already. Full of broad leaves and lots of new growth on all sides. I started from a seed on Halloween some California avocado. I live in Houston and put that mofo in the ground about 2 months ago. It loves it. When I transplanted it, it had a huge root system going, I can't wait to see what it does.

   Seems to be an epidemic on YT, not titling videos correctly.

9. I had a couple of avocado plants at first, but now I only have 2 left. Both are +5 years old now.
   
   One of them, the tallest one, is in the house, and growing 2 large side branches (both on the same side of the plant). I have supported them with sticks. Both branches getting new leaves, as is the top of the plant. I don't think the branches can hold more leaves though. Should I prune them?
   
   I'm afraid to try, because I lost my other avocado plants by pruning them. They turned brown and then black.
   
   The top of the plant has grown over 15 cm just this month, hooray! :)
   
   Also, Do you cut off any leafs with brown edges? The bottom leafs just fall of on their own when they turn yellow.
   
   You don't find many information about avocadoplants (except on how to start from the pit), so thanks for the video! :)
10. OK, I am tired of seeing people be negative, about the fruit production of a tree grown from seed. I am going to say this again: I planted a tree when I was eleven from a seed grown tree. Put it in the ground when it was about 3 ft tall. That tree is still alive, last time I was down there, by my moms old house in south Florida. When it was big ( wish I had know about pruning them then) and did not produce, a very old lady friend of my moms said just hammer a non galvanized nail into the tree trunk. I did and the next season I had fruit. I don't know why!!! If any experts has a clue, please feel free to respond. In my adult years I just determined that it shocked the tree into bearing fruit. But, I do not know . But the point is. it did produce fruit. Honestly!!
11. Avocados grown from seed do not bear good fruit. It's the same with apples, oranges, etc. One needs to graft a piece of the proper variety on a rootstock. Avocados from seeds would make adequate rootstock but better ones have been developed.

13. My mother in law has a avocado tree that was dead and one day it started growing really fast and I only been with my wife for almost 4 years and the tree started growing avocado this year less then 2 years ago it was pretty much nothing. Last year ut didn't produce that many
14. I do not believe that Avocado cuttings take root. If that was so then why waste time growing seedlings from seeds etc. I have tried air layering. India the method is called "Gootie" or a "ball shaped". I did this at the start of Monsoon, ie Jun. In end Aug I saw that one looked promising. On opening the Gootie I found no roots inside but above the upper I saw white growth developing from the bark. Presumably it was beginning of root formation. Therefore, it will be worth while trying air layering rather that propagating by cuttings. Here at Dehradun I find that grafting has better chances of success if done at the commencement of rains. I have one plant each of this graft & of air layering. Once they grow healthy I will post their images.                                                    In the case of grafting, I think it is vital to maintain humidity in the grafted scion. The scion & graft must be covered in a transparent polybag - even during monsoons.No need to tie it. Place it in shade. I have seen some experts covering the graft with a brown paper bag. I will try this next year.

16. Will a 3 year old avocado tree survive if you prune it with no leaves on the main stem (they all fell of)?
17. I have an avocado that is 1 1/2 years old. I grew it from seeds in compost. I cut it so it produced side shoot which it has. Now I will replant it. What should I use to make it fruit better. The mother of this plant is very fruitful would t the seed be the same?
18. I dont think you are supposed to use the rooting hormone for plants that grow fruit that will be consumed. The powder is toxic and it says to not use for fruit bearing plants.
19. Please, would you tell me what brand the plastic white tape being used is?
