i hope you're using the right kind of worms in your compost. Worms that you dig up from your local area won't work because they're not composting worms per se.

I'm trying to build up a yard full of nothing but sand---no clay--no soil to speak of. We only have worms in the front bed where I tilled in all sorts of compost and mulched the shrubs, but that area is on the North side and stay cools. I desperately need some good soil and some WORMS! How do you start your worm tubs? I noticed you had leaf mold and some whole fruit and tomatoes. Do you buy the worms and how fast do they multiply? Thanks!

Your soil reminds us of our soil when we first moved out here to the panhandle. Horrible clay. we too did the woodchip mulching and now have a over abundance of beautiful produce and awesome looking soil. Thanks for posting
