Top 2 Ways to Maximize Nutrition of Plants in Your Organic Vegetable Garden
Tips, Tricks
John from http://www.growingyourgreens.com/ explains the two simple ways you can ensure you are growing the most nutrient dense fruits and vegetables in your organic vegetable garden. In this episode you will learn some of the reasons why vegetables grown in the 1950s were more nutritious than foods grown today. You will also learn about the one soil nutrient that is probably deficient in most gardens of today. You will also discover how the nutrition of GMO corn compares to non-gmo corn. you know, it's a good idea to change where you plant things in your yard, especially if you have a setup like John has where every section is totally separated, beacsue unless they are evenly depleted you need to figure out special ratios of compost and rock dust and all that to meet the needs of each patch of soil. aka pain

Thx also check 99Aquaponics website for revolutionary soil free gardening.

I'm sure there is a so called list, but it is more than likely very vast. I'm pretty certain that the so called laws and statist policies vary from even a city to city basis. The so called "laws" for now, mainly refer to growing veggies, etc. in one's front lawn and/or on a commercial level.

hi john can you send me some seeds, i love you videos but were i live they dont have many seed varieties especially for green veggies.

Actually bacteria process elements into plant-useful forms and mycorrhizal fungi regulate nutrient uptake according to the needs of their host plants, growers can have large variations in their soil elements and plants will still thrive.

Hey John I know you have a ton of episodes & are a self employed guy like myself so your time is stretched very thin, but you should put together a video of all your favorite organic gardening books. I get a lot of my info from the net and a couple books. I looked on your Facebook page but didn't see anything. Thanks!

John, i love your videos and have watched them all. But I cant get to grips with this rock dust, It is almost unobtainable here in the UK because there is no demand. My grandfather grew prize vegetables years ago and all he used was manure maybe lime etc. So why do we all suddenly need rock dust?

Love your enthusiasm John, thanks for the videos. In Beyond Organic... Growing for Maximum Nutrition author Dr. Jana Bogs also points out that nutritional analysis of Roundup treated crops overstate the amount of minerals that are bio-available to the consumer. Something to do with Roundup locking up minerals (it's chelating action) after it gets into plants. They appear in analysis, but not in a usable form.

Great video John!

It is also true that Li can increase the uptake of some other elements, however this is at low Li concentrations (Communications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis Volume 8, Issue 9, 1977). The point I am trying to make is...don't just blindly add minerals to soil with out knowing what it will do for your plants.

I think that research evidence is important. I did a quick search on lithium toxicity in plants and quickly found a document from UC Davis (1964) showing that levels below 100ppm of Li can cause stunting in some plants. Azomite has 859ppm (its unclear how much is plant available). This is just one of the elements found in Azomite. What about the rest? Another questions that needs to be answered is the amount of heavy metal buildup that will occur with continued applications over months & years.

Will you do an experiment doing a test rock dust/ no rock dust?

Is there a list of states that deem it "illegal" to grow your own veggies?

I am amazed at how much people spend making their yards look good and you can't eat anything. Then they go to the store and buy food of no value that is shipped across country. They just don't realize if they reversed this how much money they would save. 2 most important things in this world are food and water. Lets start helping each other. Corporations are Only looking for profit at Any Cost.

Hi, where you found the chart? You have a link to the research?

Dear John, Could you please bring annotation to the video with sources for Rock Dust? Rock Dust Rocks! :)
