You can stick your tomato cutting in a jar of water and it will root in a week or two. No worries if its too wet or too dry like in soil. Also, you can see the roots so you know when it has rooted.

great video ray thanks for the tips I well have to try that

the rabbit knows what's the most nutritious part of ray's garden. the weeds! lambsquarter is super high in nutrients. shouldn't be neglected and should be eaten by people. including dandelion etc.

Hi Ray, thank you for responding. I actually found a pruner similiar to yours! It is made by Fiskars and its has an angled head like yours. Its called a Power Curve". I found it on Amazon. It does not have the really nice wood handle like your though but it will work! Now I am just waiting for my vegetables to grow so I can try them out! Thank you again for all your great videos!

Hi Ray, this is not a garden question but where can I purchase some clippers like the ones you used in this video? I like the way it allows you to see what you are cutting because of the angle of the cutting head. And the wood handles are beautiful! If you can either tell me where or who makes it I would really appreciate it! BTW-GREAT video as always!! Thanks!

Thanks for the knowledge, will try them this year

I really enjoy your videos, you're entertaining and your tips are awesome, sure wish I'd found them sooner. I started my container garden with some Heirloom tomato plants I found: Mortgage Lifter, Manzano and Black Krill. I hope they do well, but next year I am using your methods. Thanks so much! Do you grow your tomato plant (from the clipping) under artificial lights in your house or by a sunny window, during the winter?

I pour concrete for a living so what I would do for anchoring down your goat fence over the patch of concrete I would just get a hammer drill with a 3/8 bit and drill a couple of holes and go to your local hardware store and see if they have any scraps of 3/8 rebar and beat it down the holes with a sledge hammer and bend it over your fence. just an idea :)

You mentioned not knowing when to stop them from growing. What you can do is get some string and a label. Write a number on it. The second you see a tomato attach the tag. Mark it on a calendar and track how long it took to grow and ripen. Maybe do this with a few at different heights along the plant(s). This should give you a rough idea of how long it takes to grow and ripen at different areas of the garden and heights.

hey, i used the baking soda with water trick for tomato fungus but it burned my plants. they were however, very small plants with no fungus. i was trying to get a leg up on it maybe a bad idea.. has this happened to you?
