Zimbabwe's export earnings from tobacco have increased to over $ 700 M in the eight months to November, buoyed by higher prices and demand from China. The industry is now calling for further government reforms to ensure the sustainable production of the golden leaf. Uche Okoronkwo has that story.

It is poison to grow it, it is poison to smoke it, and even by touching it you are absorbing all kinds of chemicals into your skin- therefore it will be a big hit and you will all love it and make way more money than you might have doing something else. This is how God works you know. If God wanted you to do right you would have already known every species in your country, found one that is useful yet underutilized and started marketing it as well as organizing grower's co-ops, but no, everybody wants a piece of already established markets so that no one has to learn anything new and we all get cancer. But we must forgive others for the brain that God does not give them as well as selfish greed for their own short term gains, for it is not their fault to be without a heart either.
