"pick one leaf and let the rest grow"....green gold there!

Instead of using a heater in your tunnel you should use a compost heap. The heat from decomposition does the same job, does not pollute the air with fumes / smoke and you'll get fresh organic compost come the spring !

"literally like." Um...yeah, you're doing that wrong. Great gardening tips, though.

You should check out Eliot Coleman who grows all year long with no heated greenhouses or artificial lights. He lives in Maine. It's all over youtube. Impressive. Just grow what grows in cold. Carrots, brussel sprouts, cabbage, lettuces, broccoli, etc.

I just love all your information.
I have just watched your videos 1hr straight.
This City Farm is amazing. Thank you for taking me here with your video.
I love the radiant heat barrels but I was also thinking about solar can heating and with rocket stove heating.
Watching your videos tonight have just set me on the right path.
Thank you -

Major drawback is plants absorb pollutants (auto exhaust, etc.) as well as toxins from soil. "Organic" won't save you ... the local grocery store with non-organics (std. produce from, e.g., central Calif-- nicely well away from polluted cities) is probably safer...
I live in LA, Calif. and NEVER buy local-grown!
Major groc. stores are much more conveniently located (less gas for car trip or fewer calories for bike errand-run) and have "built-in" economies-of-scale. -
This is very informative, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for posting the video! very helpful! Nasturtiums will help attract the aphids away from the collards. They also attract the beneficial insect and as you mentioned..they're edible. I love to plant flowers among the veggies. It does help and they're so pretty! :-)
