Tips on Starting Transplant Cucumbers, Squash & Zucchini in Cups -TRG 2015
Tips, Tricks
You can start cucumbers, squash & zucchini in cups as transplants 2-4 weeks before they would go into your garden. You want 50 degree nights and days that get into the 70+ degree range for planting them outdoors in the ground. But you can start them in cups, during cooler weather. They make great transplants and you can get them started while you get your beds ready and wait for the right temperatures. Check out my vegetable gardening blog: The Rusted Garden. It is filled with garden information, videos, pictures, seed catalogs and seeds & things I sell. www.therustedgarden.blogspot.com Join My Google+ Gardening Community called Our Tomato & Vegetable Gardens - we are approaching 5000 world-wide gardeners: https://plus.google.com/communities/114956817444053979636 or Link from My YouTube Page.

Hi Gary. For indoor starts on cucumbers , how far away from the grow light (I have 250w cfl) do you put them ? My normal outdoor planting date is mid May. So I'm guessing I can start cucumbers indoors soon.

Another great video, can't thank you enough Gary for these great tips.

What happens when you transplant too quick

Your entire channel has been invaluable to me in terms of learning gardening skills. I primarily do indoor gardening because of a skin condition that dictates that I spend most of my time indoors.
Have had great success with my herbs thanks to your tips and am now looking to start some cucumbers and squash.
Thanks for such a great informative channel!!!:) -

+spongebillyboi Even more importantly why aren't you using Ad-Block Plus? You shouldn't even ever see a commercial on YouTube...

Hi Gary,
I've attempted to grow my cucumbers indoors twice, but no luck. I grew them in cells and watered them from the bottom- making sure to remove all excess water. My seeds did sprout wonderfully, however, within two days they're dead. I can't seem to understand why. Why do you think this may be? -
+spongebillyboi I dont control the commercials, YouTube manages what gets put before my channels.
-
I always enjoy your videos and my zucchinis and cucumber are pretty much well on their way.

i really enjoy your vids but i must ask.... why the commercials for chemical soup? that goes totally against the grain of sustainably growing your own food organically!
