Tilling the Soil, the Soil Food Web & Lasagna Gardening
Tips, Tricks
In this video Dan from http://www.plantabundance.com shares with you how he went about preparing his landscape prior to the establishing of any plants. Soil tilling can be a controversial subject and for good reasons. The soil food web is an intrical part of earth care that should not be over looked. Our understanding of these processes many of which we cannot see as they occur beneath the soils covering and surface will ultimately bring us closer to healing much of the damage that has occurred to our lands. Good job Dan! I agree 100%. Sometimes a temporary disturbance is needed to get the maximum effect in the long run. Thanks for sharing the principles you've been using and for the positive encouragement!

I would just like to compliment you on how inspiring your work is. I've been subscribed and following your channel for almost a year, and have watched most of your library of videos. I'm so impressed with your garden's transformation. 2016 has shown huge changes, which are amazing! Congrats to you!
We moved to our 1/2 acre property in 2012. We've cleared 1/4 acre of invasive blackberries (and tires, and urbanite, and glacial boulders) From that start, we've built an organic annual garden with raised beds and hugel mounds. In 2016, we started converting the entire yard into a mixed food forest. We currently have about 30 varieties of perennial crops in addition to our annuals, and have 40 more perennial varieties on order for Spring 2017 planting. I can't wait for everything to go in and watch them mature!
Thanks again for putting out such high quality videos. I really enjoy observing your progress! -
Another great video with a great message! Thank you Dan the Man!

Hi, I enjoy your videos. Could you please tell me the name of the metal fencing that you are using for your archway and on a square foot bed. On a previous video you said you were using chicken wire to protect a patch from the chickens, but you also have something that has larger holes. Thanks! I have a 3 year front lawn that I converted into a veggie garden and I wished that I had Roto tilled it before I started. I used wood chips and compost but the soil beneath it is still hard and my plants are living in the top 6 inches. The roots don't go deep enough to protect themselves from the drought we had in Philadelphia this summer. Any suggestions?
