Thank you Gary for posting this.
Winter is coming (Zone 7) and I am planning for the winter crop in the greenhouses.
I was hoping to have Sage this time through. Looks easy enough.
God Bless -
Does sage divide underground and send up new shoots? Or is it more like basil? It's in the mint family so I'd figure it'd put out new shoots. I love sage, I've got some in a pot and have just put a seedling I grew out in the garden a few weeks ago.

My sage is doing great but I have dill planted next to it that are not doing so great. Are they not good companion plants?

Great video! I have a huge pineapple sage bush in my backyard... I figured out how to harvest its seeds. So now in a year or so, I can pull the bush up and plant new bushes! Lots of people have been wanting my sage... because it is SOOOO good! I love using it in infused waters.. with a bit of lemon. Thanks for the great video!

Hello, I have recently began growing a bunch of herbs and other plants, and I have your standard Oregano, Thyme, Sage, Parsley, and then Lavender, as an extra, indoors. All of them are growing, and they started sprouting way quicker than most websites say they will. I see how your plants are looking after the times you say, and my plants have been there way longer, and they still look little..... Nothing like yours. But, they do grow daily. I'm wondering if I'm maybe doing something wrong? I figured at least my Sage is ready to repot, but then I watched this video, and realised it isn't.. any suggestions?

I wish I watched your videos before doing any planting x(
I planted too many sage seeds in a starter pot and now I have about fifteen sprouts growing. Should I pluck a lot of them out now or wait until they are like yours in this video? -
For the time being, I will be growing sage indoors with a grow light. How many hours of light do you think I would need for the sage?

Currently I'm experimenting with an indoor set-up, hydrogel based hydroponic using a regular flush of nutrient-rich water. I use a type of super-absorbent polymer for a sort of "soil replacement". Currently this is just an experiment, but still I need to ask, do certain plants just -require- soil? For seeds/seedlings I have set up a row of small containers that I put a mix of hydrogel in, then top it with porous cloth for water to transmit. Is this detrimental for sage growth?

I already have sage plant, but I'd like to know how to reproduce it, do you know how?

standard buy at place like Walmart and Home Depot.

how do u get the seeds

I don't know. Mine survive winter in zone 7. I take it zone 5 freezes out yours. They are perennials and the roots can take cold. Some of my plants are 10 years old. I haven't had the reseed that easily. The woody stock above ground survives too. WIsh I could be more help.

Hey, I just planted some sage in actually the same small containers that you have there in the video! I was wondering if I can put them outside for the summer and then bring them inside for winter? Would that work? I live here in Canada it gets real cold in the winter! If I left it outside in the garden would it go to seed and then grow back next spring, or just die and not grow back? Thanks for the reply in advance!

What? It is common sage? Does it look like something different to you? The seed pack is in the video. Im just curious to what you meant.

Good Luck. It should work out great.
