Great Evidence base scientific information. Thanx a lot

Your videos are well done and informative, thank you.

I hadn't seen this video and I love when you do your testing videos. I had always thought coffee was acidic, using it mixed half and half with water so it wouldn't be too strong. I could swear I took the pH of my cold coffee one day and it was acidic, LOL. Great job!

Oh heck yeah, DIY science! I've found a lot of conventional gardening/permaculture wisdom to be out of touch with my own experience, so I appreciate this.
Just a thought, Elaine Ingham recommends removing the chlorine from tap water before making compost tea. I imagine she is generally on track with that, but it would be awesome to see a controlled study of tea made with both regular tap & dechlorinated water, to see exactly how great a difference it makes in the amount of biological activity the tea generates in 24 hours. -
man that's a nice looking garden

Do blood meal or bone meal help yield and nutritient content of plants? Thanks for ur fantastic work !

Dude, I can't listen as fast as you talk. You need to take a breath and slow down so those of us from the south can understand.

I have to agree with Gary below (I watch both Gary's already and just subscribed to yours :) - you do a very good job of providing excellent information and I'm sure you spend a lot of time researching. You bring it across in such a way that is easy to understand and from a scientific standpoint. Awesome!

Excellent information...thank you.

Thanks very good chunk of information, would you add the rock-dust to the myths as well ? I still cannot decide if I should use it following spring it will be either that or seaweeds.

I am always so impressed on your knowledge and your open mind at looking into these garden myths.

Compost just solves all the problems!

Good take on the myths. But while i agree with everything else. i still would consider treated lumber with ACQ to b a caution over simply using untreated wood. The following chemicals r used in the ACQ process. There may b some variations, but u get the idea. EPA lists some of the chemicals used in ACQ as "General Use" pesticides as well.
copper and quaternary ammonium
Monoethanolamine
Boric acid
Didecyldimethylammonium chloride
Alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride
Do i want any amount of these chemicals in my soil ? Personally, no.
As far as chlorine. We know it prevents and kills bacteria in water, which is why it's put in tap water in the first place. IMO, it should temporarily kill some of the beneficial bacteria and fungi and would effect nutrient availability until they multiply back to optimal numbers. Continual watering with chlorinated water imo would not b a good idea. For in ground gardens, it should b less of an impact, but for raised beds and container gardens, i think the negative effect would b more noticeable.
BTW... your dog was like ... oops... your recording -
Hi! Thanks for the info. I always believed the pine needle thing. I am wondering about amending our native soil with mulch made from wood chips and whether it has an acidifying effect on soil when worked in. We live in a Mediterranean climate and have some pretty alkaline native soil. Any recommendations for acidifying?

Compost tea works it's basically compost mud. But dose it have any effect as a topical spray to feed the plant as well as help protect from pest and disease. The largest vegetables in the world the men that grow them claim it's the tea that dose it. Can't wait to see your lab results!
