Also, please add sand to that soil, even if it is well drained, you want at least 1 to 2, organic material to sand. -

Mine grew long and spindly, and the leaves began dropping off. I pruned it back to a stump, and it's sprouting new leaves!!!

Questions? Does succulents need a drain hole at the bottom of the vase to drain the water? How do you prevent from over watering if there's no drain hole?

Thank you so much, I have lots of cuttings from the mother plant and have had to give them away because it has got so big. I now know what to do and will give it a try. I live in Scotland and we call them Jade or Money plants. :)

I still have a very small jade plant.. about 4 or 5 inches. When should I start pruning it so it can get a thicker trunk? My fear is that it is too young to be pruned. >_<
