Terlingua and Study Butte are great little places. Live nearby, visit them every so often and everyone there's super friendly. The chili festival's really fun in November, so there's that too.
-
Terlingua is a pretentious and unfriendly little place where wannabe elitists who have failed elsewhere think they're above the rest of society because they bought some land for cheap.
-
Do you ever get board of your own voice? .... Probably not.
-
Not watched SWRNC for a while good to see P&M looking well, interesting place.

Maybe you should fact check yourself before running your mouth. I'm a little embarrassed for ya buddy. That's just a response regarding the ignorant stupid words coming out of your mouth.
And If one can't find the beauty in Terlingua and it's community,, then by all means please stay away.. This place is only for folks that are strong in mind and kind in heart. The desert chomps and spits out the foul quickly. -
Wish I could post a pic of the kids waking up on top of the mountain at Big Bend, your destination...Plz make more videos. Loved it.

The Gravestones, Minnie, it's the River Styx ( I think that is how it is spelled), You leave money to pay the ferry man to bring the deceased over the River Styx. I'll have to google that, but thank you both for the great , honest video....love it.

i've been here for 30 years, you don't know shit, don't kick the dog,and fuck you, and do not come back here if you know what i'm saying O bye the way did I say "FUCK YOU"

spellcheck would have gone a long way if you want people to read the written comments without groaning ...

5:46, " LONG LIVE THE CHURCH"God Bless you for taking a stand in a time where no one cares.
-
I guess the theme for that town is <drum roll> "I'm crazy about the Mercury"... Sorry, I couldn't pass that one up... <hangs head in shame>
-
you didn't go to la kiva, or any of the other bars/cafes. nor did you venture into lajitas. not that it would have made your experience all that much better, but still.... the area is inhabited by some fairly interesting characters, straight out of a novel almost.

That building with the little front porch that you said looks like it was bombed and that somebody might have lived was the school house. My dad's best friend Jimmy Parker, who I was named after, went to school there. Sad to see it in such disrepair. My great grandfather was the Doctor there, Dr. Kelley, and lived just up the hill from the school house. One day his car slipped out of gear and came careening towards the school while it was in recess and almost hit Jimmy Parker. Jimmy Parker's dad ran the general store and the miners had to use company issued money to buy food there. In 1980 I was there for the Chile Cookoff and was thrown in the Terlingua Jail for mooning the Sheriff and his crew. The Justice of the Peace was Hallie Stillwell and said I was free to go as soon as someone showed up to take me back to Alpine but I wasn't going back to the Cookoff that year. "The trails in the desert are dusty and cold and the mines of Terlingua have taken their toll."

Most "car guys" will have heard of Terlingua through its connection to Carroll Shelby and the GT350R and a race team.
