tending to the aloe vera plant

1. hello dear. i got an aloe vera plant yesterday. the pot was quite small for the plant and i decided to repot it. I did a mistake there. i mixed brown sand (that is used in making houses ) in the soil :( now suggest me that will my plant get burn of not? plz reply
2. Thank you for the video.  I've used fresh aloe leaves on very bad burns.... I even had a mishap with duct tape and had severe burns.  The only thing that helped the pain was the aloe vera gel inside the leaf.
3. Too much water will turn the tip of a leaf brown - with any plant.
4. my aloe vera tips are very dry, brown and its not from having too much water because i didn't water it for 2 weeks or so and its going more and more dryer along the leaf! please help should i cut the dry or dead tips of the leafs away?

7. Hello! Thank you for the replying, i have re-potted my aloe, and it seems to be doing great! Would like to ask what type of fertilizers should i apply? I understand aloe don't require much fertilization, however do you have any recommendation on how to fertilize in terms of N P K concentration? My online research has yield contradicting information. Cheers!

9. Hi, i have was given a aloe vera plant, and its root/stem is really long, can i cut and shorten it before planting? The roots are really long thus not allowing it to sit at the center of the pot. 
   Hope you could give some advice =D
