Starting Goji (Wolf) Berries and Lettuce inside in the Alberta Urban Garden
Tips, Tricks
This week I plant my Goji berries, or Wolf berries ( Lycium barbarum ) . They are most well known for their traditional medicine uses in China. Some claim this is a super fruit predominantly due to their high Antioxidants content! The best part is they are cold hardy to Zone 3!! In fact I was lucky enough to find a Canadian Source! Sask Goji Power provides organic seeds and plants. They were easy and fun order from! I am interested to try growing theses little red berries. The other little experiment I am growing is a number of different lettuce seeds that were so kindly sent to me from Ronnie at the Small Town Garden! I am working to figure out what kinds of lettuce I like. if you are interested check out where I got my seeds from Goji Berries: http://www.saskgojipower.ca/ Lettuce Seeds from the Small Town Gardener: https://www.facebook.com/groups/623988970979119/ I have lovingly called my garden the Alberta Urban Garden. ps You converted C to F degrees for the Goji ?berry limits I think. FYI 30C =86F
Also my comment about repackaging those tiny bags .... I meant to say repackage the left over seeds' after' you planted seeds. -
What I do with those tiny bags/and tiny seeds...open bag with scissor dump out in a soup bowl, then repackage in new bag.

Just ordered 8 seedlings

Stay tuned this weekend for a follow up on my Goji Berries and my pruning experiment !

I read that not enough research are done on these , some have birth defects in lab mice ..

the audio level is too low. Is it because your mic is a little too far away when you recorded it?

Nice video. I didn't know Gojis were hardy. For some reason I thought they were tropical.

Eh bro :) Will they withstand Alberta winters once they are established?
-
+Stephen Legaree , I look forward to seeing how your goji berries do. We planted some indoors last winter from goji berries we bought at Whole Foods. They germinated very well. They're outdoors in a pot right now. Hopefully, ours are as cold hardy as the ones you are growing.
