Staff of Herding Items needed to make staff Black Mushrooms- Act 1 Cathedral level 1, found in a room with 2 entrances Wirt's Bell- Act 2 bought from vendor "Squirt the Peddler" for 25k gold Gibbering Gemstone- Act 3 Siegebreaker Quest, in the Caverns of Frost level to dropped by Chiltara.... if you see the Ice caves then just quit and start again. Plan: Staff of Herding- Act 4 Prime Evil Quest dropped from Izual You will need to use the plan to teach the blacksmith how to make the staff. Once learned it will cost 5k gold. when you have the staff you need to go to Act 1 any quest after the "Fallen Star" quest. Quest 2 " The Legacy of Cain" was the easiest because there is only 1 way point and all you have to do is back track a little bit from there... Be on nightmare mode I was playing inferno and was playing for hours trying to find things turned it down to nightmare and found it first try

no you can get it on any difficulty, you will want to get the items on the difficulty you have finished so you can make the staff, from there you just have to upgrade after you finish each difficulty unless you decided to do this on inferno and then you can use the inferno staff of herding on any difficulty

Do i have to get it on nightmare the gem thingy?

nightmareish staff can be used in nightmare or normal but not hell or inferno. so you have to upgrade either after every time you beat a difficulty or if you finish inferno and upgrade it, the staff will work for all difficulties.

whats the hole thing about the names of the staff like nightmareish staff of herding. what does this mean or what does it have to do for the game? can you use one or do you use it for the next mode?

you have to keep quitting the game and continuing it till you find the cave again. It took a buddy of mine about 80 tries to get that piece, and about 20 of them were trying to get the right cave. just keep trying and good luck!

Okay so I do the cave could not find it but what pisses me off is the game is not letting me get to the cave again it just disappear and never again seen

you can, it's just easy to get the parts in normal. Once you have the staff its just a matter of beating act 4 in the difficulty you want to upgrade the staff to. When you want to upgrade the staff just make sure you go to prime evil quest in act 4 and travel back to the town. One of the merchants has the plan to upgrade the staff. I will be making a short video on it.
