On our weekly agribusiness segment "smart farm", we meet Danson Njihia, a retiree who has found his fortune in farming. Unlike other farmers who specialize on one crop or the other, mzee Njihia opted to practice mixed farming ranging from keeping cattle and poultry to cultivating vegetables. And as Henry Githaiga narrates, one's pension savings can still provide a good base for a successful business venture.

How can 2000 layers give 10,000/= kshs per week after expenses ? while an egg goes for 10/= kshs whole sale price . Let's do simple mathematics. Let's say 1000 layers a laying 1000 eggs per day, that will give him 10,000/= kshs per day which will give him 70,000/= per week less expenses. Sir you either share openly the financial income or just talk about the challenges 🙊
