We have had ours in very large buckets with handles for the last 3 years. We plan to put it in the ground when we sell our home and move out to our acreage. It has been working well so far.....I do not bring it in during the winter either.

I grow mine in tyres, one tyre high and over the dormant period I add loads of compost around it as a mulch. Thanks for showing us, this was interesting.
