Shopify is easy and fast to setup, but Expensive for a small business. And in most cases you will need to purchase extra apps for your needs. you can end up paying 100$ a month. Default configuration missing some key features like different pricing for different countries, FBA integration etc. Switched to Drupal e-commerce. Harder to setup and needs some programming skills, but it's free

I believe google recently updated their algorithm and now penalizes websites in search that have popup email capture forms enabled for mobile devices, I have been hearing about this update for awhile and have since disabled my pop up, I believe the update went into affect yesterday. What are your thoughts on this, do you think it's more important to have email capture popups and take a hit in search results?

Hey man, I just found your channel today and it is awesome! You lay it all out, good and bad, and tell it like it is. So much knowledge in your vids man, Subscribed!
I have a question though. If you were starting right now, with $1000 to invest, what would you do? I have multiple directions I could go. I've been learning about Amazon FBA. OA, RA, and private label. I've listened to pretty much every episode of The Amazing Seller, and have a pretty good handle on what it takes to sell on Amazon. I've done some product research and found 4 promising items, but I'm beginning to think I need more than $1000 to start a private label.
I also have three handmade items that I've sold on ebay and Etsy for a couple years, with pretty good success, but it's so time consuming building the items myself that it's not scaleable. I'm the bottleneck in this case. I've been thinking about having my items manufactured either in the U.S. or overseas, then heavily promoting them on pinterest and Facebook. They are all in the same niche and lend themselves very well to the pinterest/etsy scene.
I built a niche site in 2014 that's still up, and gets 500-600 visitors a month, and I wrote an e-book that utterly failed (lol) on Amazon Kindle around the same time, so I'm definitely not scared to put in a lot of work for a (possible) payout later. I haven't made any money on anything since I started in summer 2014 except my handmade items, which I've made roughly $2000 profit, that's where I got the $1000 I have, and spent some to buy me and the kiddo some RC cars haha. But like I said, I can only make my items so fast, and with my 9-5 it's exhausting. If I could have them made for a decent price I could kill it! I've also built a few motorcycles and know motorcycles in general inside and out. Motorcycles/hot rods are my passion and the reason I'm trying to start an online business is to fund a motorcycle shop in the future, I don't have the space or resources to start one now.
Sorry for the long message, but you seem like a sincere guy who tells it like it is, so I thought maybe you could give me some advice. I don't care how much work I have to do, what's the one thing I can start today that has the best potential to make some profit to turn over into other things like private label? If you had $1000, with monthly infusions of $150-$200, what would you do?
Edit: Forgot to mention, I'm in Missoula Montana so I'm not too far away! We're on our third cycle of snow, then sub zero temperatures. I like the snow but not a big fan of -10 degrees lol -
They're all trained to the point that if I'm struggling with a decision "What would Cody do?" or " Maybe check with Cody" is all their replies. Thank you so much for the coaching and guidance!!
