Shallots, Lemon grass and Apple plants from seeds.
Tips, Tricks
I wasn't sure what to do with the shallots I bought so I placed it on a container and it's growing! My lemon grass that I also bought, I tried to have it grow roots on me and it worked. Plus, growing apples from a seed here in South Florida.

A similar great idea I found and tried this past summer was growing potatoes in a bucket from cut peelings off of a supermarket organic potato. Got lots of nice fresh potatoes, plus you can just dig one big potato out of the bucket with your hands, but leave the plant still growing the rest of them. I got the idea from the book "ALL MY SECRETS OF ORGANIC AND CONTAINER GARDENING" on Amazon.

I just found your chl. from watching another on date palms from seeds. I have also started lemon grass just as you've shown, and transplanted them into soil a week ago. They have begun to sprout the new green growth leaves. I put the three in a pot, being that in the Northeast we have very cold weather. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep them going, but it is so enjoyable to grow something from the start.

Hi, Thank you for your great videos
I Have a question , i Have grown apples and when they grow just like your video, and start to have leaves Then they always Start to dry and wither.
I Think my problem is that i keep them inside of my house ,, Should I keep Them Out ? Do they need a Lot Of Sun Lights ? And What Is the best temprature for them ?
Thank you so much -
Not picking on this video, but recently I've seen so many people planting red delicious seeds, I can't understand why you wouldn't start with a better apple? Maybe I'm just weird, but I think Red Delicious is one of the worst varieties out there. At any rate, when people told you that a cold climate apple wouldn't work in Florida, they didn't mean the tree wouldn't grow, the problem is that it may not bear any fruit (requires a certain number of "chill hours" every year to produce fruit). But since you do not know both parents, that may not be true (the seed is only half red delicious, other half unknown). I would advise anyone in a warm climate that wants to try growing apple trees from seed to use a Pink Lady apple - it is a pretty amazing variety that grows in both hot and cold climates and produces a remarkably flavorful apple that stores better than almost any variety.

nice method of growing green onion

wow just realized how old the vid was.

Unfortunately you are growing crab apples though. They dont produce from seed,... if you eventually get them big enough you can graft on a scion from an apple tree you like. Thats how all apples are grown.

In brief . .. . I love your video . . . I'm going to do the Lemon Grass. Yes, you will get apple trees, but they will not come out true to the apple you purchased a the super market. Apple trees are usually grafted from grafts from the Mother plant. When Johnny Appleseed planted seeds along the Eastern U.S. coast, most of the apples were sour . . . so they also developed apple cider mills. (History from Dr. Don, Ontario Master Gardener, Canada),
