Thanks. very helpful. Just harvested 1 kilo of shii take from one kit.

Great videos, I'm thinking about getting into this. How many ounces can 1 block produce? Thank you

We use to grow mushrooms, make block, and make 6 foot bags.. Was a lot of fun. Do you sell shitajiki blocks? Like 20 or 30 a week. I have a 400 sq foot clean room for fruiting . We have a farm and may get back into selling produce again. Remember I can't pay what most people want for blocks because when they fruit theres no profit to be made.

I like the video. very useful... Do you have video of how to make a shiitake block using your own mixture, and their quantity.

I've done everything in this video and also on the instructions that came with my kit and nothing happened. Any suggestions?

Great video, very informative, person like you are an asset on youtube! thanks!

This video has different instructions then the ones that came with the kit (such as kit doesn't say to place in fridge or cold soak if mushrooms are growing, only put tent over...which is correct?

Can you use the mycelium that you took off the top to plant in medium that you can grow mushrooms in? I love this video. I got mine in the mail the other day. I still have 20 days to wait. So excited.

I recently purchased a shiitake block kit from a local farmers market. It looks just like the one in this video but the instructions didnt mention the thump and I already placed it on the counter with the tent (after following the other instructions) it is day two and I can see the bumps of future mushrooms. My question is, is it too late to "thump" the Block? Thanks for all the cool tips!

Amazing! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. 2 quick questions: you put the sawdust in the bucket of water w the mycillum for how long? The sawdust you then packed back into the drilled holes? Just wondering... with all the spores that are being produced at your your location, do you now have wild mushrooms growing on your property? With wind blowing spores all over your yard, I would imagine mushrooms everywhere, yes? Thank you for sharing your talent.

The mycelium does tend to sprout more after dropping it.
this is because The fungus confuses these vibrations with those of thunder or flooding
these are both signs to the organism that the season is right to produce their reproductive organs
I hope that's helpful,, thanks for all the great videos -
Great video! I bought a kit not on a whim b/c I love shiitake during a street fair. Now that I'm learning more, I see do not have a humidity tent. Is that ok? I already opened the bag, but was confused by an instruction step about working the surface with rubbing alcohol. Is that normal? Also, it supposed to smell so strongly?
