Seed Pots from Newspaper - How To
Tips, Tricks
Here's a quick video of how I make seed pots out of newspaper. They're quick, simple and cheap to make. I'm starting my seeds this year in these seed pots as well as soil blocks (I have a couple vids of making those too). Sort of an experiment to see if one outshines the other and also because I just like trying things out to see! Hopefully this will find it's way to all of you gardeners in time for spring! And as always thanks for watching! I own 100% of the audio and visual content of this video. Music clips are created for this channel by my brother-in-law Trey Harris.

Awesome idea...I use cheap Elmer's school glue non-toxic

DO NOT TRY THIS. I started seeds indoors on paper pots and egg cartons and they both got mold. The paper pots succumbed first and then the egg cartons got it too. Mold is unhealthy and I think it affected my health. I transplanted my seedlings into plastic cups. I suggest you use plastic cups instead.

Not sure if someone else mentioned it, but wouldn't you be able to use your spoil block maker to also make your newspaper pots? It would be great to wrap the paper around and them tamp the paper down with the plunger portion!! Awesome!!!

Thanks alot I am seeding with it

Super clean. Thx!

Thank you for posting. I used tubes from paper towels last year. Also I set my seed starters on cookie sheets. I placed the tcookie sheets on a drying rack by a sunny window which worked out great.

good idea with the super glue have had trouble with using too many layers of paper not degrading or at least not very rapidly

Good video, although I wouldn't use pages with colour on them. Black and white newspapers are fine, nothing real bad in them, but once they add colour to the pages you start getting some not so fun chemicals. And super glue is fine I think, as people do use (the hard ware version) for closing wounds quickly, when you can't get stitches for whatever reason. Cheers!

I know what you mean by the gardening bug. Great videos to get me going. Waiting for supplies to arrive and will do a video on seed starting as well. Can't start to soon, my safe plant date is mothers day!

You can also use toilet paper rolls (the inner cardboard tube). pack the soil straight in, place the seed and they disintegrate after awhile (and worms love cardboard). Nice tip, thanks for sharing.

Nice video. When I tried newspaper pots they eventually grew white fuzzy mold on them

pretty good, but isn't super glue toxic? isn't there alternatives? Good Work
