Wow! That garden show was really fabulous! Thank you for shooting that.

I would suggest using a very good blender I bought called VERSA from Amazon in the USA for your smoothies. I no longer juice. It was too wasteful and I was knocking out the fiber from process and although you can use it in soup, or compost, its a pain. Instead, I blend everything with Greek home made yogurt and its beautiful. No waste

I prefer to plant vegetables in my garden. flowers might look beautiful bun nothing else.
If I would plant flowers, I would plant edible ones. -
Tell your friend to place beer and salt in a small water bottle lay on its side the salt will kill the slugs
Also on raised install a eye hook on each outside corner of the frame feed a thin metal wire around and this will stop slugs from proceeding into the bed
Ps change the beer if that doesn't work
Snail are fussy

Hi Sean..Do you not think its a bit late in the year to be starting off tomato seedlings?
Also, sweetcorn needs at least 120 days of solid sun to get big, so it looks like no corn this year. Along with most other things..
Here is a little tip for you also.. You should get some sort of water butt and put it in the greenhouse , so the water is the right temperature for the roots, and not freezing cold from the tap, as that will shock the roots...You could even leave a watering can full in the greenhouse to acclimatize..:)
Haha.. I can't believe you are actually going to try and get one of those planter tools for free!!..lol..I hope you bought one..:)
And can i just say, I have noticed you have started using some of my 'catchphrases' , so I am honoured that you watch my vids..Cheers..:)
All the best.. Dave... -
Sean, Whats in your compost? for the test, no vermiculite and manure?
(Better label those pots before you forget)
Are the pots getting the same amount of light? One on south side going to do better. I have an arbor with just a bit of trellis and the south plants always do better, just FYI.
Just a general question, do you feed your garden, or just use compost? -
Another great blog Sean.

Hi Sean, just watched this video. As always, I enjoy your posts. I wanted to compliment you on the footage of the show in Birmingham, both this one and the other one with the WWI footage. I actually enjoyed yours better than the professional one that Gardner's World did. About the item that makes the seed pots yourself. I have actually seen Monty Don use one on Gardener's World and if I recall he shared the cost savings too. Well, thanks again for your wonderful video's. Your California friend.

As normal brill vid! I bought one of those hozelock growing planters after watching your programme last yr! Worked a treat excellent especially if you're off on your hols the water reservoir is great!

Vivi - any cheapo beer will do. Slugs and snails don't appear to be great beer connoisseurs!

Thanks Sean. Some great ideas I may pinch fron you. That water idea for your melons is fantastic. Thanks for the GWL film, I really wanted to go this year bit didn't get around to it :-( Next year defo! I love the show and the new ideas like that gadget for making pots, simple but genius! My cucumbers are quite a way behind yours, about 3 weeks. Great show and thanks for sharing and bothering. Take care. Gary

Get a plastic drinks bottle, cut 2 big holes half way up.1/4 fill with beer and put on the lid. It's rain proof and just throw it away when full and smelly. Mozel Tov, Paul.

Thanks for the visit to Gardeners' World.
Great show!! Cheers from Canada!! -
It looks like it was a great show. It's just a shame you can't control where the ads appear. I can see that you are putting loads of thought into it, and then Youtube just gets the timing wrong. Great work as always. All the best.

what a great video, thank you!
few remarks:
cucumbers - personally I like them meaty, not much water, for that you can grow the regular one (the long one, not the agurkis type), and harvest them about 10 cm/6" they are great and ready to eat!!! you can eat them fresh, and can them as well.
It is great to see the booths and their products on the show, we dont have the chance to see it on gardens' world onTV. it is helpful - thank you!! As non UK resident, I find it useful (we dont have that much or that developed garden shows here) .
According to my exp about beer and slugs...it wasnt a success, I hope Vv will have more luck!!
Cant wait to the next video.
And now for cup of tea ;) -
Why doesn't vivi give up all she does is moan
