Can you explain an allotment garden? Your climate appears to be more mild than winter in Michigan, USA.

My allotment took a back seat in 2015 as I got married in September and it has been a little neglected over the winter. However, hoping it will be dry this weekend so I can get back down and organised! Thanks for the videos, really enjoy watching and gives me a kick up the bum to keep on at my allotment :-)

Sean, Your Show and allotment gardens are very informative, but one thing would be helpful if you tell us viewers what amendments you use on veggies, fruit trees, berries and the frequency. Also how you control pests: I thought this was mostly organic growing: Keep up the great videos and I enjoy the positive group. Vivi is amazing, she seems to rotate and grow a tremendous succession amount of food. God Bless you all. I live in the USA State of Colorado east of the rocky mountain Denver area. Our zone is 4 - 5. Growing season is April - late September, if were lucky till the 3rd week of October:

Hi Sean,
Iv'e just signed for my first allotment. Since then it's not stopped raining so can't work it yet. I have a book by J.E Sewell cooper on gardening. He was the head gardener at one of our stately homes. It was bought for me by my Grandfather who was a coal miner and keen gardener. Written in 1913 just before the first world war so everything is in black and white with not many photo'es He says that damping down the greenhouse keeps the temp down and the humidity up, and also stops red spider mite. Do you think with all the pesticides now, organic or otherwise, this would work today?
Great vid always like to view them.
Regards,
Bill. -
Does Rusty live at the garden or does he go home with you? I have a helper cat too name Snake and he too supervises like Rusty. They look like they are relaxing but they are really busy making sure everything gets done correctly.

Sean, what a terrific movie. When I saw the length, I put it on hold, made a big bowl of popcorn, curled up on the couch and watched it straight through. Loved every frame. I particularly noticed and enjoyed your use of music throughout. Really nice. What is wonderful about these videos is not just some good practical advice (that I try to translate to my New York zone 6 location), but some nice flow of storytelling. The plot itself is a character and I confess I did enjoy seeing you have enough time to tidy up a bit...your allotment space was beginning to resemble an out of work uncle with two weeks growth of beard sitting around in your mother's basement, surrounded by beer cans and pizza boxes. All is looking very promising now, so good for you. I understand you're employed elsewhere and appreciate how much time and energy that takes. I'll follow the progress on the shed with great interest. In addition to you
-and of course, Rusty-I also feel quite familiar with all the other 'cast members', and I've said it before, but that Vivi is wildly entertaining, even when she can't garden. Her intelligence, cheery nature, and kindness always comes through. Everyone always seems to perk right up when she shows up. And for what it's worth, I actually watch all the ads...least I can do, and if it puts some money in your pocket, it's a wonderful trade off.
All the best to you, Rusty, Vivi, Geoff, Graham, and Kai...have a very Merry Christmas and see you all in 2016.
