Thank you for this video. I have tons of flowers every year but have never saved seeds. Today I will start. You've inspired me!
P.S. I could listen to your voice all day. :) -
Thank you for the video. I have French marigolds that I have saved seeds from. I did not know about the gray seeds as opposed to the black ones. And thank you for showing the difference. Very helpful, but now I have to go back and check all my seeds. I just dead head the plants and put the dried seed pods whole in a plastic cup. I hope that is ok.

thank you 😄

when is the best time to plant seeds. I planted mine in January when it was cold but I had the plans inside and when I got warm I put the plant out side with no growth.

a friend told they had to be 3\4 in I didn't know I put them 2 to 3 inches in. it was watered plenty. the seeds I had where black with 1 tips. I didn't compact the soil

I planted marigold seeds and they are not growing what did I do wrong

What if you want your marigold to grow, but still seed? I get up and pull my flower when they are dying so I can get the seeds.
I dry them then pull them when they're ripe ( or brown) -
I am not interested in the small marigold plants but the tall African Marigold

I would like to have a great number of seeds from a variety of pods.

I think my Grandma showed me this once but I needed a refresher. This was exactly how I remember it. Thanks! :D

I planted two packets of wildflower seeds. I recognized most of them when they bloomed except these that are called African Marigolds. I knew the plant leaves looked like Marigolds. Now I know what they are and how to save the seeds. I'm deadheading all the flowers at this time to keep them blooming. Good video.

Thank you! It does help.

Hi. I've recently subbed to your channel and really enjoy your no-nonsense style of explaining things. I have a question :) When looking at the coloration of the seeds, you note that only the black ones are viable. Would this color vary depending on the different types of marigolds, or is that true for all of them? Thanks in advance. Keep the info coming. I can use all I can get :D

Lots of good information, as usual. Thanks for the tips.

I don't what the problem was either, last year my granddaughter planted the giant ones from seeds I had saved, and they did great. My garden did fairly well this year. I did not plant as many things this year. Down sizing a bit. Will try again next year.

OopsanOhno1 second ago Enjoyed your video. Do you ever use the African Marigold as a companion plant to deter certain bugs from other vegetable plants?
