I have one of those... I can't get them to grow new leaves. I lost 2 rounds of new leaves for it. It seems that I don't leave it enough sunlight. So, for people looking to grow it, keep it in rich, indirect, sunlight.

I bought a sago palm from ikea this past summer and it just keeps yellowing. It was green and lush when I bought it but now it only has a few green leafs left. I live in the north of Sweden and it's starting to get very dark now, but even during the bright summer it yellowed. I don't water it a lot. What could be wrong? I always cut the dead leafs.

I have one of these in the front of my house in Florida. Anyways, the one plant I have sprouts mini plants like this by the dozen every year. The main plant is huge and grows at an incredible rate.

is dunking a good idea for watering sagos?
-
Quit using the term palm, these plants have nother to do with palms.

I have 2 sago palms and one has yellow on the tips of all he leaves, any idea what causes that?

The leaves of sago only develop wel in ful direct sun( not behind glas). The difference in size in this one is to much because of lack of light, the needles aren t spiky enough and the leafs look fluffy, i m not trying to be harsh, but i know this because i experienced it too with my sago.
Put it next flush in ful sun and you l get a more typical sago leaf! -
Why the leaves are soft? Isn't it should be hard like thorns?

I just became an owner of this plant & I believe it received too much water. It's been repotted w/drainage components in soil (wood chips, per-lite, sand)& sprayed with organic fungicide on the middle where white marks from where it was buried in last pot. It's now more above soil but new leaves are still yellow & not producing green spikes. I would like to know if I may apply the same fertilome I use for my lemon trees since it's high in Nitrogen & it's not really a palm? ty!

Nice palm bro.

i HIGHLY recommend planting then in the Ground. Not keeping them as a house plant. They can tolerate temperatures down to 5F.

Your story was good, your ability to take care of plants is great, but it sounds like you were trying to kill your Sago Palm so you could resuscitate (thanks to spellcheck) it! :)

my Grandmother has a plant which is coming just over a meter now. We have a good climate for these and it is outside in the garden
-
sago palm contains lots of neurotoxins

Over here sago palm is a bloody huge palm tree. Probably can only fit in Kew's greenhouse. Never knew this type of cycad is called sago palm. Quite common in Malaysia.

I enjoy your stories! It makes your videos personable, not just dry facts. Thanks for taking the time to do these.

I was thinking of bringing my sago over for a play date but I don't think it could take that much ruff housing ! ;-)
