Saba Banana Cebu Philippines
Tips, Tricks
Banana trees grow like weeds, once banana is ready to harvest it will no longer produce so we cut it down. At the base new trees sprout up all the time. I should have taken a close up of the layers, it looks very much like cardboard box material but in layers like an onion log but juicier lol. The juice while clear will leave a permanent stain on clothes...screwed up a favorite shirt once. The symmetry of nature is amazing, the golden ratio and fibonacci sequence are everywhere! This banana is tasty boiled. Another way to prepare it is to deep fry with brown sugar for a candy coating and sweet snack. This is often sold on the street and put on skewers or kabobs.

Well hopefully it isn't too serious.. I live in Racine Wisconsin but got friends in the Philippines I met on Facebook and have been dyeing to try a banana cue after watching some youtube vids on Philippine street food and at a huge Asian store in Milwaukee I found some bananas that kinda look like the Saba bananas. They are 7" from tip to where the stem meets the main body and measuring one of the widest sides from side to side it's about 2" wide. Does that sound about right?

hey, not sure if i answered this...a banana tree only harvest one bunch of bananas, better to turn it into fertilizer than remain a consumer of soil nutrients.
