My stockpile of resources is starting to overflow so bad that no amount of inventory management is going to save me. I guess that means that I should do some crafting.

How do you get the crafting area? I been playing this game for 1 year now
You can't make a sword with Iron Edge Bronze Bronze, but you can do it with Short dagger Bronze Bronze to make a Katana, also with two branches you can make a nice dagger... Heh

Like any skill the more you do it, the less RP it will take. However, I suggest you focus on cooking first, as you can make something, then eat it to regain hp and rp. The cucumbers you shipped could have been pickles. Every crop sells for more if you cook it first. Some like pickles, turnips and yams really are easy to cook. Also, yes, try and upgrade things for better skillups. Then go buy weapon bread for recipies. Remember to upgrade only boss drops on your main weapon for the best result.
@BoxMacLeod No, it's just the Ps3 browser is terrible with YouTube videos. That or YouTube has little support for the Ps3 browser. I've verified this by watching some of the earlier Fallout New Vegas videos Plump has. 240p Seems to be the only thing available.
Oh for leveling smithing, try upgrading weapons instead of making new ones.
I think the animals always drop the same thing. Slimes actually make decent combat buddies as they heal the damage they dish, just feed it it's own crystals to upgrade it first. If you are looking for a new pet to to help you in combat, you might want to try one of the trolls in the desert (not the huge one). Love this series.
