Around the end of May, or whenever you notice these little flower bulbs first appearing, get in there with a pair of scissors and prune just the tips off. This will stop the lavender plant throwing all of its energy into producing flowers, and instead it will produce new foliage. Don't worry, the new foliage still has plenty of time to produce flowers, and you will get more flowers from your lavender plant, and it will be bushier, if you take the time to prune off the earliest flowers.
