Preparing to lay turf video
Tips, Tricks
To ensure your new Rolawn turf remains looking beautiful, the soil must be prepared before laying the turf. This video guide shows how to remove an existing lawn, rotovate the soil and rake to a fine tilth in preparation for laying turf or sowing lawn seed. I have an existing lawn which is looking very tired and worn out. I would ideally like to re-turf using your Medalion turf. The problem i have is that upon lifting a section of the old turf i found the soil underneath to be very stoney and contain heavy clay. This would explain why the lawn is prone to fooding in the winter as it doesnt seem to drain. What should i do in regards to stripping out this soil and would there be any advantage in removing more soil and putting a layer of shingle before putting your topsoil in.
Thanks

Hello
I have a garden which already has grass planted in. It's not turfs, it has seeded grass which look terrible. I want to lay turfs what you reckon I should do.Do I have to take out all the previous grass or not. -
I laid new lawn about 3 years ago after last lawn which last 2 years was destroyed by weeds and worm casting. Afraid to say weeds and worms are back. I've run out of ideas, i love that i have worms but surface is left with mud and patches everywhere!

Great video cheers pal. Ok so I've taken up my back garden paving slabs (40 sq metres) in order to lay some new turf. I would like to know if I can lay the turf directly over the sand which was the base for the slabs. Or should I rake the sand away and replace with soil before laying the turf? Orr just lay soil over the existing sand and lay the turf? Many thanks in advance cheers

who is this presenter? is he an actor or does he work for rolawn? if he is a rolawn employee they must be a very artistically gifted workplace! Excellent stuff! particularly the bit where he starts using the turf cutter!
