When you plant into your hand, does it require co2?
-
I just pulled the whool off with my fingers gently and then pulled all the single strands of bt and planted them in rows.

Two things. Firstly, the lighting on that tank was way to low to grow HC effectively. You need around 3 watts per gallon. Secondly, this grows best in a fine substrate. You will also benefit from carbon dosing, either by Co2 or a liquid supplement.

If they needed to ask that they probably wont be able to grow this.

I tried Cuba a year ago. Struggled to get it to stay in the substrate. Any tips? Also it never "grew", stayed similar size for about 3 months and then slowly turned yellow and died. That was a few years ago and ive learnt a bit, but has anyone had success with this carpet plant This was the old tank: 40L Tank Single 18" Fluorescent Tube (Pink Glow, for plants apparently) 25% /Week water changes Dosed 1Xweekly with "API Liquid Plant Fertilizer Standard 4mm mixed gravel +Fish Cheers

Same here! I'm wondering if it'll work to make a carpet without the use of Co²

I've been thinking about buying this plant from your website, but I wasn't sure how well it would grow without specialised nutritious substrate or the addition of Co2 (As my tank currently has neither) - I do however use root tabs and dose Fertiliser twice a week and have medium lighting. How well from your experience does HC grow in less than optimal conditions? - A response would be appreciated. Thanks.

what kind of lighting do you need? metal hallide? or t5's?

He should say to do it his way only if you start a new setup and no fish. If you have a mature tank with fish on it.. removing the mineral wool you'll find you HC flying all over your tank. It just won't stay into substrate. SO if you guys have fish in the tank, just cut it into like 9 pieces and put it into substrate along with the mineral wool. I've lost 4 pots of HC because of this vid :)
