the seeds are fake they are not tear drop shaped and I saw the video when you showed the sprouts.

I'm in the state's too. I bought a carnivorous plant kit at toys r us for $18 and it came with 7 species. I have followed the directions and still have two more weeks to wait before planting.

It's says to seal them in a air tight bag like u do with cactus

I just planted a trap but I used fucking tap water. fuck everything

Mysticspid if your using tap water you will kill the seed and it won't germinate (average 3 months in 75-90 degree weather with 85% humidity) you need to use either rain water or distilled water and just keep it moist. They are bog plants so if it's hot enough the water will creat the humidity it needs. Highly recomend you put plastic wrap or static wrap on top to create a higher enough humidity and that will keep the water retention needed.

it died !

Are you ok? Did the Venus Flytrap eat you? :(

i have baught one very similar to this and today I have noticed a little sprout growing. When you plant the seed, moist the soil and cover it with cling film, shrink wrap so it can germinate. Once it sprouts, remove the wrap and water as normal. Wikihow will help a lot.

first thing is first, you have a nice pleasant voice.
I've done intensive research about how to grow venus flytrap from seeds and i found out it isn't that hard to grow them from seeds if u know what you're doing.. 1) you need to rehydrate the seeds if they are not freshly harvested, soak them in rainwater or distilled water in a container until they rehydrate n drown. 2) after you have prepared your potting substrate which would mainly be a mix of peat, sand and perlite(70:15:15) , you need to sprinkle the seeds on top of the substrate mix n not burry them, they need some amount of light to be able to germinate (not direct sunlight as it would overheat n kill the seeds).
3) You need to make sure it stays moist and humid as it would increase the speed of germination.they need high humidity. If you are living in a dry region with not much humidity consider placing the pot in a ziplock cover with some water in it and ensure there is sufficient humidity maintained. Germination is better at temperatures around 20 - 28` C.
4) Be patient , even the freshly harvested seeds can take upto 15 days to germinate.. so don't give up hope that easy. make sure the surface of the mix is always moist (not wet ) , high humidity is the key.
HAPPY GROWING :) -
You should be using distilled water only and don't cover the seeds. They need a dome to keep the moisture in. I don't mean to sound weird but you have a very lovely disposition. I'm from Canada, please contact me via facebook :-}
