Planting Tomatoes - A Quick Tip
Tips, Tricks
For planting tomatoes in a trench, or sideways, this is a helpful tip. It was suggested by someone who commented on one of my videos last year (alan30189). When laying tomato plants in a trench, it's not easy to get the tip of the plant up off the ground. However, as was suggested, if you lay the plant on it's side for a day or two prior to planting, it will go ahead and turn up. This will create a 90 degree bend in the stem, allowing you to then put the plant into a trench with no fear of breaking the stem or having the leaves laying on the ground. This tip worked out very well.

Where did you go??????????????????

i kept a tomato plant from this year's garden. when it stopped producing because of the season changing, i cut off the top part and repotted it. i'm growing it indoors now. however, it is not producing any tomatos - just making a long lanky stem with very few bulbs for fruit. i am thinking about letting it create a really long stem and burying the thing like you did in this video when spring comes back around. would be interesting to see how well it produces given [1] that it's a tomato plant from the previous year, and [2] such a large portion of the plant would be rooting in the soil.

why are you planting the tomatoes in a trench? I never saw that before, if my plants are as tall as the ones in the video, I plant them deep straight up. Is that wrong, I always planted them like that, so I learned something new, thanks
