I have allways soaked my okra and its up 3 or 4 days after I plant it! When I was a kid our neighbor lady was an older lady and she was the old school about the garden and I helped her I was just a kid and I learned from her to soak my okra it comes up faster and you can see the seeds that will grow and the ones that will not and you way less skips !! Thanks paul

Hey Donald, I loved the kildee sitting on her eggs. Does she ever act like she's hurt to distract you from her nest?

What kind of Kubota tractor do you have?
-
yeah i know what it is if it rain and if flood the sand cones up to the top of the soil and the soil at the bottom
-
It’s a sandy topsoil which built up after many years of flooding. It was not hauled in…..Donald
-
thank you but what kind of sand is that mixed in that clay? is that a green sand or what?
-
It's a mix of sand and clay. What we call "head land" near a bayou.....Donald
-
is that a clay soil
-
It was taking me approx 8 hrs to harvest, wash, cut and package the okra. Not enough time in a day to do all the rest of the work…..Donald
-
So... this was the batch that grew out of control. I learned something thanks. ;0)

what verity of okra was this?
-
I would break the soil up real well, add fertilizer at the recommended rate and plant. Keep em watered in the dry spells and you’ll be surprised how well they’ll do. Start yourself a compost pile each year and add it to the garden the next year……Donald

@webcajun I have wrote you plenty of times with questions and you respond fast :) thank you. I have another question for ya lol, I have only red clay/dirt in my yard and would like to plant okra and tomatoes but I was told that red clay has no nutrients for plants to thrive. Is this true? I was told to add compost, vermiculite or anything to put nutrients back into the soil. Do I have to go through all that? Seems expensive.
