hi great video. I like that you are using the dry grass as mulch. In my garden I had some grass mulch and what I did was I just broadcasted the okra seeds and they came up in between from under the mulch really nicely and I think that they are the best okra plants that have all grown so far :-).

Good idea saving space. I will try this!

My onions aren't doing too well, only about 40 out of 100 came up.

It is a tasty food, but a bit different. Have a good day Tito.

Abelmoschus esculentus is the Latin name. Maybe this plant is not popular in Europe. I will post a video if the Okra comes in.

I do not know this okra plant and I am curious its fruits!

Thanks! :) I'd never heard about using Okra seeds for coffee, will be interesting to hear how it works for you.

If I can keep the animals out they should turn out quite well, but that's a big IF. LOL!

It's one of my favorites and seems, knock on wood, easy to grow. :)

Mmm hmm :) We used to get it at Cajun Joe's, a take out restaurant here, fried Okra and chicken gumbo. Yummy!

Okra is in the Mallow family, closely related to the hibiscus flowers that some have growing in their yards. It's also related to common mallow, a weed of the field. the pods of okra and the seeds have a mucilaginous texture, soothing to the throat, similar to Aloe vera. This is a turn off to some as the okra can be slimy. I like to chop it into 1" rings, bread it and fry it. Serve it with hot sauce, tobasco sauce or the like. Okra is also great in jambalaya or gumbo, Cajun dishes. thanks!

Love Okra, and yep, cant have gumbo without it. Good to see you getting some rain Roosevelt.

It's the opposite for me, People want me to grow cucumbers, radishes, eggplant and kale. All three are doing great and, except for the kale, I don't normally eat much of the others. The things I want to grow, like the okra, are getting eaten alive by animals and bugs. I went out today and these little okra plants were just starting to grow upwards and branch out, something came through and ate every single leaf off every single okra plant, 30+. I don't know if these little guys will make it.
