I can't imagine planting in January! I would love it. I don't enjoy the hot summers so I guess I will continue to hibernate here in the north and enjoy your garden from afar! I will start my transplants the middle of March. Happy growing!

It is always exciting to start planting and to see your little plants popping out of the soil.
-
Way to go Mel ! Your soil looks fabulous !
-
Waiting to see your results from direct seeding. A lot easier than taking care of indoor seedlings for transplant.

I hope it does grow for you im so ready to start mine but that dang snow wont stop
-
I'd have to dig through the snow to start planting outside here lol.

Spring fever has hit hard here too! I always say I'm not going to order too many seeds but every year those catalogs come out or I read about another variety of veggie I want to try and the bubble mailers start pouring in. I went out to our garden two days ago and rooted around in the sunchoke patch. Dug up enough to have for supper that night. I have some repairs I need to do on our greenhouse. I wasn't going to use it this year and just use the small seed-starting shelf style one I picked up for $20 but now I want to try an experiment in the greenhouse so I need to get it cleaned out and prepared. I may have to video it and see how it goes. Thanks for sharing!

I've never tried growing celery, I'm anxious to see how yours does.

Sweetie, that is one GREAT SITE!!! I love it. I had been reading several books about Cole crops a lot lately. They are the crops that can go in very early, and boy do they ever do better when grown in the cold. Kale and cabbage is a great example of plants that are sweeter when grown in the cold. Fantastic. Can't wait to see your plants growing crazy, now just keep the chickens out! LOL Great Video!

Awesome, Mel!

Oh Mel , I am so jealous. To see you planting in January as I sit here in NY waiting for our next snow storm. LOL!

Wishing you a wonderful garden. It's starting plants indoors for me. The soil outside is way too cold for seed to germinate. And all my seed drowned from all the rain we had in April - June. This year I hope to have umbrellas for all my plants. LOL

I'll be planting soon too. I probably should have today but I spent nearly all day building a website. That was FUN! My favorite Popsicles are the banana flavored ones.
