Planting & Growing Potatoes in Pots: Part 2 - Harvest
Tips, Tricks
We harvested our container-grown potatoes and this video shares the results. Christy Wilhelmi of Gardenerd set out to grow potatoes in different containers in October to see if the container makes a difference. Several months later, she harvested the potatoes and tallied up the results. Find out which pot did better, as well as how easy it is to harvest potatoes from containers. Hello, Gardenerd! I tried to plant potatoes in container. Yet it could not grow. Maybe this is because of heavy water or soil problem! Could you give me some advise, please?

Great. And I would like to know the name of the plant that appears behind your left hand, with long grean leaves. I have exactly the same, they call it here green tea, I know it's not. We use it with tea, it gives nice taste and odor. Would you please identify it.

Am comparative testing growing potatoes in raised beds and potato bags this year using seed potatoes from Peaceful Valley. They are purple, yellow, russet, and fingerlings. The potato plants in potato bags are doing much better than the raised bed ones and will be easier to harvest. Last year I grew them in raised beds and after harvesting a couple of months later found a few rogues potato plants growing. With the bags, like pots you can just tip the whole thing out. I add paper from the paper shredder instead of additional soil to stop the potatoes going green. Love to fumble in the soil for new potatoes!
